New Security Measures at the White House

We've all heard about the breach at the White House over the weekend.

A homeless veteran was able to scale a fence, dash across the North Lawn and actually get into the front door before being stopped.

He had a knife in his pocket, and yesterday, the Secret Service revealed that they found 800 rounds of ammunition in his car along with a machete and two hatchets, classifying him as a threat to the president.

After that announcement, the security detail announced a new policy: the front door to the White House would remain locked when not in use.

This should be one of the most secure buildings in the United States, and it took them this long to figure out maybe they should keep the doors locked when no one's using them?

Sort of funny, in a very sad way...

Three Days of Foreplay?

James Spader visited The Tonight Show and tried to describe his experience at Comic Con in San Diego.

He was out there to promote his appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron, a movie due out sometime in 2015.

His description of the event borders on requiring an R rating. Check it out - but be warned, you may need a cigarette afterwards.

Instant Karma's Gonna Get You

Stephen Tulloch, a linebacker for the Detroit Lions, was able to sack Green Bay's quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, during Sunday's game between the two.

That's the good news. After all, it's the goal of every defensive player to get a piece of the other team's quarterback.

It's even reason to celebrate. And that's where the news turns back, for Tulloch and the Lions.

Getting up from the sack, Tulloch jumped in the air, mimicking Rodgers' famous touchdown move, where he mimes a championship belt around his waist like you might seen in the WWE. It's also known as the State Farm Discount Double Check move, thanks to all those commercials.

As he made the move, Tulloch came down badly and injured his left knee. He had to leave the game, and according to reports yesterday, he's out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

Not funny at all, but there sure is plenty of irony to go around. Check out the video - it's a quick one on repeat, so you'll have to click to stop it!

She's All the Buzz

Charlo Greene, a reporter at KTVA in Alaska, left her fellow employees in shock on Sunday.

While completing a studio stand-up about the Alaska Cannabis Club, which provides connections between medical marijuana cardholders who need marijuana with medical marijuana cardholders who have marijuana. According to their web site, it's all done legally in accordance with Alaska's rules and regulations.

At the end of the story, Charlo announced that she was the owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, and she planned to dedicat all her energy to legalizing marijuana in the 49th state.

And that's when she quit her job, live, on the air. And not with just a simple "I quit."

No, it was proceeded with a suitably-placed F-bomb.

She walked off the set, leaving the news anchor stupefied.

Breaking Up Isn't So Hard to Do

It's official.

Kris Jenner - momager (her word, not mine) to the Kardashian and Jenner kids - has filed for divorce from her husband of 23 years, the almost completely resculpted Olympic athlete, Bruce Jenner.

They've been living apart for close to a year now, so it's no real surprise to anyone.

I sure hope the kids are okay, don't you?

Meanwhile, on the same day as the divorce was announced, Kris appeared on Instagram, trying to sell a dress - and taking a lot of heat for what many are calling a highly-PhotoShopped shot.

Hard to believe that Mama K would PhotoShop anything, but I guess it's possible - what do you think?

The Diss Heard 'Round The World

The rules of high-fiving etiquette seemed to be suspended in the owner's box at Sunday's game between the New England Patriots and the Oakland Raiders.

After Tom Brady threw a touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski, Patriots' owner Robert Kraft went to high-five his guest, film star and Boston native, Mark Wahlberg.

Mark didn't see the high five, and didn't really react after Kraft tapped him on the shoulder.

Was it a diss, or simply a case of a guy actually paying attention to the game and not the team's owner?

Check it out - it's a short clip, but it's gone viral.

How Will They Shatter?

Wondering what will happen if you drop your new iPhone?

Other than the people around you laughing uncontrollably while you sob?

The guys at Phone Buff figured they'd do the leg work for you to save you the hassle of finding out on your own.

(1) Dropping the phones flat on their backs is the best idea - if you're making plans to drop your new phone. It fares pretty well.
(2) Dropping them on their sides - not so much.
(3) Dropping them on their faces - probably the worst idea.

Here's the bottom line: if you're spending hundreds of dollars on a new phone, maybe you don't want to drop it.

Catch and Release, Yankees Style

This is simply hilarious.

A family goes to Yankee Stadium to see one of the last games of the season, and one of Derek Jeter's last games ever.

Jeter fouls one off, and dad catches it. After taking all the necessary photos, he hands it to his daughter, who's begging to see it.

She throws it back into the playing field, to mom and dad's suprise - some might say, horror!

Pretty good arm too, since she throws it over the heads of everyone in the dozen or so rows in front of her.

All's well. The ball boy returned the ball to dad, who pretty quickly pocketed it.

First Things First

Remember when phones were actually used to talk to people?

Yeah, it's a vague memory to me too...

The gang from i.aM.mE, a hip-hop troupe out of Houston, put together a video that perfectly sums up the reason so many people have cell phones these days.

Check it out. It's pretty good, and pretty funny too.
