6:00 AM: Sandy’s night with Landry last night was a tough one! She didn’t want to go to bed and was coming up with every excuse in the book for why she couldn’t go to bed. He ended up having to lay on the floor next to her crib and holding her hand. Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 30 days in jail yesterday and the judge ripped her a new one. We keep wondering when she will finally succumb to authority, because it seems like she keeps messing up over and over again. The X Factor has been renewed for another season. 6:15 AM: The most popular video game of all time is Angry Birds. The 2nd place spot goes to Tetris, but it’s FAR behind Angry Birds in sales numbers. This seems crazy to us as Angry Birds is so new, but it’s probably because it’s available on most cell phones and it’s so addicting.
6:30 AM: 4 things you need to know with Sara. Apple is apologizing to customers who have low battery life in their new iPhone 4gs. They said they will fix that with a new update, but Sandy heard it will help to turn off the setting that tracks what time zone you are in. The Trail of Lights has been cancelled once again. A production company had taken it over for this year, and had grandiose plans for it. They bit off more than they could chew, and backed out. Jessica Biel was up for the lead role in The Notebook and really wanted it, but she didn’t get it. APD has the new crime cameras this week downtown, and there have already been two arrests downtown because of the cameras.
6:45 AM: Replay of Joshua from yesterday. Joshua at Occupy Austin. We got a call from a guy named Joshua who has been at Occupy Austin since day 1 and he wanted to call in and talk about his beliefs and the cause. He said it’s all about “the fat cats” and “corporate greed”. He doesn’t think he should have to pay back his student loans because he didn’t graduate from college, and he thinks that downloading music should be free. He is upset because he hasn’t been able to charge his iPhone and he doesn’t think we should have to pay for them. He is tired of the man bringing him down. He wants to BE a man, not work for the man.

7:05 AM: Make Sara Squirm replay from yesterday. We decided to take this bit in a WHOLE new direction. We turned the lights down and lit a candle. We made Sara sit face to face with Sandy, her knees touching his, holding his hands, and look at him in the eyes. This made her WAY more uncomfortable than anything we’ve done yet! Sandy looked her deep in the eyes and told her how wonderful she is, how much he likes her, and how much he appreciates her. Sara really lost it when he hugged her and tried to kiss her on the cheek. 7:45 AM: 2nd Date Update. Maryann and Billy went on a date and for their date they went to see Paranormal Activity 3. About halfway through the movie she excused herself and ran into some friends in the lobby. She left him and went next door to a nearby restaurant and had some drinks with her friends. She stayed there and he texted her 30 minutes later wondering where she was and she invited him to the restaurant. He said he’d come, but never showed up.
7:52 AM: We hear Billy’s side of the story. He said he took her actions as a sign that she wasn’t into him at all, and she was bailing on the date. She said the truth is, she’s just terrified of scary movies and didn’t want to look like a wimp in front of him. She knows she made a mistake, and feels awful for doing what she did. Surprisingly, Billy said he’d like to go out with her again and promised to not do anything scary.

On Monday night a Chicago man was having chest pains and called a worker at the group home where he lived, and then he cut open his own chest and tried to remove his pacemaker himself. He died of heart failure and the doctors weren’t sure what he cut himself open with. The cost of owning a pet has gone up 47% in recent years. The cost of owning a cat has gone up 73%. They asked people how much they’d spend to save their pet’s life—and 70% said “any amount”.
