"The Austin General Mail Facility will accept collection until midnight on April 18 for last minute tax filers.
The U.S. Postal Service facility at 8225 Cross Park Dr. will be the only late night collection point in Austin that day.
The retail window will still only be open until 5:30 p.m. All mail dropped before midnight that day will have
the April 18 postmark, the deadline for filing tax returns.
Many Austinites will likely take note of the late drop box as
the city was ranked 4th worst tax procarastinatingin the U.S.
The tax filing deadline was pushed back this year to April 18 from April 15.
Taxpayers that ask for an extension will have until Oct. 17 to file their 2010 tax returns."
