DIVERGENT the movie hits theaters Friday 21st! I've read the book and LOVED it! It's written by Veronica Roth, who also wrote 2 more books to go w/ DIVERGENT. I need to get INSURGENT and ALLEGIANT. 3 books under her belt, and 2 movies.. There's already a release date for Insurgent- March 20, 2015. Not a bad career path right now for Veronica who is 25 years old. Check out the trailer, and I would suggest getting the book. It's one of those that is hard to put down once you start reading it.

Lots of parties happening with lots to watch out for especially if you're heading downtown. Heads up on a 'NO REFUSAL' going on starting at 9pm-5am by the Austin Police Department. The initiative is an effort to enforce DWI laws, keep the public safe, and to conduct blood search warrants on suspects who refuse to give a breath or blood specimen as required by law. More here.
*Remember to dress warm. It will be cold! Make sure to have a designated driver if you are going to enjoy the spirits out, or a number for a cab handy. Click here!
There will be street closures that are the same as it was over the weekend:
Consistent with normal downtown special event procedures, officers will begin towing vehicles beginning at 6 p.m.
on March 1 and March 4, 2014 in the following areas:
• along East 6th St. between Red River and Brazos streets
• the 500 and 600 blocks of Neches and Trinity streets and San Jacinto Blvd.
If your ride is towed it can be found here:
*Southside Wrecker will tow all vehicles to 8200 S. Congress Avenue. They can be reached at 512-441-7094.
NO PARKING signs will be placed on structures near the locations to ensure ample notice is given.
• The 600 block of Neches starting at 5 p.m.
• East 6th St. between Red River and Brazos Ave. starting at 6 p.m.
• Roadways east of IH-35 are not scheduled to be closed, but barricades will be staged if crowds warrant the closures. APD will only set these barricades if needed.
• Traffic control devices will be staged, but not set to close, unless needed, the 6th St. exit ramp at northbound IH-35 and the 8th – 3rd St. ramps of southbound IH-35.
All streets will be monitored and will reopen when it is safe to do so. Due to high pedestrian traffic, motorists are encouraged to drive with caution in the 6th Street Entertainment District.
The BBBBRRR cold temps helped me wake up this morning after staying up late watching the Oscars. It's the 1st time in a long time I watched the entire show without tuning in and out. Ellen Rocked it as host. A couple of my favorite moments at the Oscars was MS. Pink's FANTASTIC version of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. I got goosebumps.. Did you? Still do.. AMAZING!
Big O moment that is more movie-star related is a tie of Ellen's Celebrity Selfie and Matt M's Golden Guy acceptance Speech! The Oscars were way less stuffy this year w/ Ellen at the Helm of things! I may have to walk outside a few times today to keep the Awake juices going, but it was a good night showing love to the movies and everything/one who create them for us!
A 6-year-old, Dylan wanted to help w/ funding and awareness for his Best Friend Jonah who has a rare liver disease, so he decided to write a book and sell it to raise $1million. The book is called Chocolate Bar. He's raised $750K so far. Check out the video. You might want a tissue near by, it brought some Happy Tears to my eyes. How Sweet is this... SO SWEET!! #sochocolatebar
Which movie do you think will take the Big-O home? I've seen 1 of the 9 movies up for a Big O. I'll be doing a lot of closing my eyes and picking winners w/ the ballot.
First time this year the Oscars will be streaming live for on mobile devices through WATCH ABC. WATCH ABC is available for subscribers to participating pay-TV providers online and through the WATCH ABC app on your iPad, iPhone or Android device. How to get set up click here!
