Perfect holiday yummy combo

Bud Light w/ a Bud Light Praline

2 cups  packed light brown sugar
1 cup  granulated sugar
3/4 cup  milk
(I use skim)
1/2 cup  Bud Light
(in place of water)
1/4 cup  corn syrup
1/8 tsp.  salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1  1/2 cups pecan halves

Heat sugars, Bud Light, milk, corn syrup and salt to boiling in a large sauce pan or heavy 3-quart Dutch oven. (I don't have a D.O, so I used a good size saucepan).  Reduce heat to medium. Cook, about 35- 45 minutes,  stirring just the top foamy bubbles (usually 15 minutes without stirring, but the Bud Light causes the mixture to foam up, so you have to be patient as it cooks down. It was about 45 minutes for me.) Once your candy thermometer reaches 236 degress take off the heat. Let it cool, in the pan, without stirring for about an hour. The saucepan is cool to the touch.

Add vanilla and the pecan halves. Stir together until well mixed, but still has a shine to it.  It will be very thick, so stirring will build those arm muscles. Drop mixture by the spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Let stand 1-2 hours, or until the candies are firm and no longer glossy and sticky.

Wrap each in wax paper or plastic warp, and store in an airtight container.

This is a perfect Halloween, holiday and anytime treat. :) Another Good Yummy Time w/ Bud Light!

Perfect Holiday Bud Light Yummy...

Thought I would stick w/ the candy Bud Light vibe since Halloween is just around the corner, and the Holidays. This would work for all of these occasions and just because you want some Bud Light Toffee!

Bud Light Toffee:

-1 cup of sugar
-1 stick of butter/margarine
-1/4 cup Bud Light
-1/2-3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
-1/2-3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
(flavored kind is yummy too)

*You will need to whip out the trusty candy thermometer. Also have a large cookie sheet out and ready for the hot toffee. Best to prep before hand, because you really have to watch/ constantly stir the mixture so it doesn't burn.

1.) Heat the sugar, margarine/butter and Bud Light to boiling in a 2 quart saucepan, stirring constantly; reduce the heat to medium or a bit lower. Be careful the heat isn't to high (Bud Light tends to make things boil over quicker). Cook, around 15  minutes, still stirring constantly until you hit 300 degree temp on the candy thermometer. You can test a small amount of the mixture in very cold water. If it separates into hard brittle threads, it's ready.  Be careful not to burn the mixture. Watch your heat and keep stirring. Another way to build arm muscles

2.) Once you hit 300 degrees, immediately pour the toffee onto an ungreased large cookie sheet. Spread the mixture about 1/4 inch thickness. Sprinkle w/ chocolate chips (white chocolate chips/ butterscotch..maybe a mixture..whatever makes you happy) , and let stand about 1 minute/or until the chips are completely softened. Spread the softened chocolate evenly over the toffee. Sprinkle w/ pecans.

3.) Let stand at room temperature about 1 hour. I also put it in the refrigerator another 10-15 minutes, so the chocolate was completely  cool/set. Break into pieces and enjoy. If you have some left, store it in an airtight container.  It should last for several days tasting FANTASTIC! :)

HHHMMM...  Yummy Bud Light Toffee made another yummy good time in my kitchen. Try it in yours! :)

This makes a small batch. If you want a larger one, I would at least double the ingredients. :)
Bud Light-Toffee was definitely a sure sign of a Yummy Good Time! HERE WE GO!!

Bud Light Peanut Brittle...

Here's a tasty treat  that Rocks anytime.. tailgating...game time... holidays... a snack.  The Bud Light just kicks it up a yummy notch!!
It was my 1st time making Peanut Brittle. Ted used to make it with his Grandfather when he was young, so between the 2 of us, we got our ' Peanut Brittle' candy making on...

Bud Light Peanut Brittle
-1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
-1 teaspoon Bud Light
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1 1/2 cups of sugar-1/2 cup of water & 1/2 cup of Bud Light
-1 cup of light corn syrup
-3 Tablespoons of butter /margarine
-2 cups (16 0z ) peanute
the norm is the Spanish peanuts, but honey roasted rocks for a sweeter taste.

*Candy thermometer - This is really important to have. Ted went all over ATX looking for one.
Finally found one at Bed Bath & Beyond! He said he should have gone there first.

Making the Bud Light Peanut Brittle:

-Heat oven to 200 degrees. Grease w/spray pam 2 cookie sheets. Put the cookie sheets in the oven to keep warm. This is important so the sticky candy will spread about 1/4 inch thick without setting up right away.

-Mix baking soda, 1 tsp of Bud Light and the vanilla and set it aside. Mix sugar, 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of Bud Light and the corn syrup in a 3 -quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, once the candy thermometer reaches around 240 degrees it should be ready. Test it by dropping a small amount of the mixture into  VERY COLD water. It should form a ball in the water and go flat when it's taken out. Then it's ready. (The Bud Light seems to cause the mixture to boil over easier, than if you were using all water. So make sure you keep an eye out it.  Stir and lift the pan up a bit if it's looking like an eruption is going  to happen.  Be patient, it will turn into what you want! )

-Stir in butter/margarine and peanuts. Cook, about 13-15 minutes, stirring constantly. Once the candy thermometer reaches around 300 degrees  it should be ready. Test it by dropping a small amount of the mixture into VERY COLD water. It should separate into hard, brittle threads. Watch carefully so this doesn't burn. Once it's ready immediately take it off the heat.  Quickly stir in  the baking soda mixture until light and foamy. (The stirring stage to 300 with the peanuts will give your arm a work out. It will be thicker as you get closer to the 300 temp. Don't stop stirring. You can tag team the stirring like Ted & I did)

-Pour 1/2 of the candy mixture onto each  warm cookie sheet and quickly spread about 1/4 inch thick with buttered spatula. Let them cool completely for about an hour.  Then break into pieces and eat. Make sure you store in an airtight container, so it keeps a bit.

Ted was skeptical when we started, but the end result he enjoyed.. IT ROCKED in taste, crunch and chew! Bud Light creates another winner! Great for a football parties, holiday parties or just a snack cause you deserve it!

Enjoy your Bud Light Peanut Brittle.  Sure sign of a YUMMY GOOD TIME. Here we go!!

Here's one for the Football Party/Tailgater....

If you are planning on cheering on your favorite team, whether you've got the 'Burnt Orange' spirit, the Cowboys fever, or you're like me sticking w/ her Bears threw thick and thin, and this season looks like thin for right now.  Well,  the Cool thing is Bud Light is the official Beer of the NFL, so that helps a bit with the sting of the Bears loss, or helps elevate some Good Times when they win.  Here's a yummy and easy recipe that goes perfect with 'Your Game' & 'Bud Light'...

Here's the 3 main ingredients, Bud Light, your favorite sauce and a pizza crust.

The rest you can add/ subtract whatever you like.
Here's what Ted & I did..

Bud Light Pizza:

- 1/4lb of pepperoni diced
-6 slices of bacon cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 lb of hamburger
-1/4 cup of onion
- 14 oz of tomato sauce/pizza sauce
(Classico Pizza Sauce Rocks)
-bottle of Bud Light
- 1 TB garlic powder, oregano, thyme, black pepper, Italian seasoning
(whatever your favorite seasonings)
- 2 cups of  your favorite cheese- mozzerella- a mixture.
-1/2 cup of parmesan cheese
- unbaked pizza crust/ or already prepared crust
(just shorter cook time)
You can use whatever toppings are your favorite.. chicken/pineapple... sausage and mushroom..whatever you like. It's your Bud Light Pizza!! Alfredo Sauce rather than tomato.. YUM!!

Preheat oven to 450 uncooked pizza crust/ directions w/ the already prepared one (375 usually works out well)

-Fry the bacon in  a skillet and place the bacon on a paper towel. Once it's cooled break into pieces. Pour the grease out except for a little bit about  1 TBs in the skillet and add the onions, pepperoni and the hamburger (90-10) and Bud Light. (you can add any extra seasoning to the meat mixture you like. I enjoy garlic/Italian seasoning). While the mixture is browning, put the tomato/pizza sauce in a sauce pan and add 1/2 cup of Bud Light w/ the seasonings if you are just using tomato sauce.. garlic,  thyme, oregano Italian seasoning Rocks too. If you use a season pizza sauce that works too.  Let it simmer.  Remove the meat mixture from the heat and the sauce once it's simmered for about 10 minutes.

- Time to make the BL Pizza:  Have the crust on a pizza pan/or big cookie sheet and put the sauce on it.... the parmesan cheese.. the meat mixture/veggies if you got them.. then a bunch of cheese on top! Bake! Once the cheese is bubbly, Golden Brown, it's ready to cool a bit then EAT!!   THIS IS AWESOME! Give it a try for your next 'Football Game', 'Party/Tailgater' or even a yummy quick  dinner. It Rocks!!

Breakfast for Dinner/ Early Tailgater...

Just a couple of suggestions for the newest recipe I put to the Bud Light taste test-
Bud Light Cheesy Quiche....

2-cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
2 Tbs flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp mustard (I used Honey Dejon)
4 eggs beaten (you can do egg whites)
8 slices of bacon, crispy
1 cup of fat free milk
1/2 cup of Bud Light
1/4 cup of diced onion/or 1 TBs onionpowder
1 tsp garlic powder, or  1/2 clove of garlic
1 tsp black pepper
-pie shell ( I used pillsbury, had a nice flake to it and tasty)

You can add more 1/2 cup more of your favorite meats, and/or veggies.  Your favorite cheese instead of cheddar works too.Mix the cheese, flour and salt in a separate bowl.  Beat the eggs, then add the milk, Bud Light crumbled bacon and onion. Mix together, then add the cheese mixture.  Pour into an unbaked pie shell . Bake at 350 for about 50 minutes or until golden brown on top and set/not liquid in the middle. Fork/knife test  it.

Let it cool  and serve.  It's a tasty breakfast for dinner dish. You could make it the night before for a morning start tailgater.  I liked it, but for me it needed a bit more kick. So the next time, I would add another meat, like a sausage, and some veggies like mushrooms. I would use a bit spicer cheese. But for a 1st time /Quiche for me it turned out yummy, you can taste the Bud Light kick, but it works in nicely.  Of course, if you love HOT, you can add peppers and/or add some hot sauce when you serve it.

Give the Bud Light Quiche a try, with some of your favorites. Easy to make and very tasty!

Bud Light Chili 'n Cheese Dogs...

Are you ready for some football?

Ted's getting ready with a Yummy Bud Light recipe that is perfect for your football/tail-gating parties!
Ted's Bud Light Chili'n'Cheese Dogs
-Recipes Goodies:-
-1 bottle of Bud Light
-1 lb hamburger (ground turkey, ground chicken, tofu)
-2 strips of bacon (turkey bacon)
-1/4 onion diced
-garlic 2 cloves
-black pepper 2 tsps (your taste)
-chili powder 2 tsps (your taste)
-southwest seasoning 2 tsps (your taste)
-1 can/14 oz fire roasted diced tomatoes
-1 can/14 oz stewed tomatoes
-1 can/6 oz tomato paste
-shredded cheddar cheese (your favorite)
- sour cream (if  you like it with your chili)
-package of hotdogs (your favorite.. turkey dogs..veggie dogs)
-buns/bread (you favorite) pretzel rolls from central market ROCK

Ted's making the chili:
-Sweat 1/4 of diced onion with 2 strips of chopped up bacon, 2 cloves of garlic and seasoning and a few tablespoons of Bud Light. Add the ground beef and brown.

-While the onions are sweating and the beef is browning, combine the tomatoes, the tomatoe paste, hot sauce (1 tsp to start.. then for your taste..your choice of hot sauce. You can also add peppers of your choice here if you like) and 1/2 bottle of Bud Light in a crock pot (or you can also use a pan on the stove).

-Once the beef/onion mixture is brown, add it to the tomatoe sauce mixture in the crock pot. Let it simmer/cook at least 1 hour, before eating. The longer you can cook it/simmer, the better. Do this the night before and cook it for a few hours than have it in the refrigerator over night. Once you heat it up, it will be even yummier, if a little too thick add a bit more Bud Light to thin it out.
You can also add more seasonings as it cooks depending on your taste.

-While the chili is cooking you can also have 1/2 pot of water with 1/2 a bottle of Bud Light with 1 hot dog in the pot boiling so the water will have that yummy hot dog/Bud Light seasoning to it when it 's time to boil the other dogs.  Boil them in the same water.

-After an hour,  you might want to add more seasoning to 'Your Bud Light Chili'- give it a taste and season to your taste.  As is, it's it's got a good light kick/bit, but if you like spicier...than add some more kick!  If your kick is a bit intense, you can always add a bit more Bud Light to even it out!- Get your favorite bread ready. Pretzel rolls from Central Market are very yummy with it. Cut them, add a bit of margarine and wrap in foil to heat.  Once they are heated, add a Bud Light dog and some Bud Light chili with Cheddar cheese and sour cream (if you like) you can also add peppers, if those are your favs too. Whatever condiments are your favs to get you ready for the Big Game!

Bud Light Chili 'n' Cheese Dogs a great addtion to tailgating/football fun!  THEY ROCK!!

*BTW- This was Ted's 1st time making Chili, and his own recipe kick'n it up with Bud Light! Nathan hot dogs was his dog of choice. IT ROCKED!!!

PS: The Bud Light Chili would be Awesome on nacho chips with cheese.   Chili 'n'Cheese Bud Light Pancake dish has come up too. May sound strange, but it would be really good.

THIS ROCKS!!!...

Cathy & the Crew @ Brown Distributing sent me this. THIS  ROCKS!

Anheuser-Busch Sending More Than 70,000 Cans of Water

to Assist Wildfire Relief Efforts in Texas

Water Arriving Later This Week in Austin and Cypress

ST. LOUIS (Sept. 7, 2011) – There’s a need for drinking water in areas of Texas affected by wildfires, and Anheuser-Busch is contributing to the relief effort. The brewer is providing 2,940 cases of drinking water — or 70,560 cans — for use by residents affected by wildfires that have resulted from a severe drought.

A truck loaded with water left the company’s brewery in Cartersville, Ga., yesterday and is scheduled to arrive tomorrow at the local Budweiser wholesaler in Austin, Brown Distributing, 8711 Johnny Morris Road. A second shipment will be sent to Silver Eagle Distributors in Cypress, 8660 N. Eldridge Parkway, arriving later this week.

Both wholesalers will work with relief organizations to get the water where it’s needed.

“People in Texas are in need of fresh drinking water, and this is one way Anheuser-Busch and our local wholesalers can help,” said Peter Kraemer, vice president of Supply for Anheuser-Busch.

In April the brewer sent more than 100,000 cans of water to West Central Texas to areas affected by wildfires, and last week the company sent more than 400,000 cans to assist with some of the hardest hit areas of the East Coast affected by Hurricane Irene.  So far this year Anheuser-Busch has donated more than 1.7  million cans of water for U.S. disaster relief.  Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has donated more than 70 million cans of drinking water following natural and other disasters.

Helping communities cope with disasters has been an Anheuser-Busch tradition since 1906 when Adolphus Busch made a donation to victims of the San Francisco earthquake.  Today, in addition to providing monetary support, Anheuser-Busch packages fresh drinking water and donates it to emergency relief organizations for distribution to those in need.

Based in St. Louis, Anheuser-Busch is the leading American brewer, holding a 48.3 percent share of U.S. beer sales to retailers.  The company brews the world’s largest-selling beers, Budweiser and Bud Light.  Anheuser-Busch also owns a 50 percent share in Grupo Modelo, Mexico’s leading brewer.  Anheuser-Busch is a major manufacturer of aluminum cans and has been a leading aluminum recycler for more than 30 years. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev, the leading global brewer, and continues to operate under the Anheuser-Busch name and logo.  For more information, visit www.anheuser-busch.com.

Here's a yummy for the Big Game...

This recipe comes from my college days where Bud Light and Mac'n'Cheese was a gourmet dinner for me. As time went on, stuff has been added! It's pretty quick, easy to make, and yummy to eat. Stuff can be whatever you love..favorite meats, seasonings, veggies... Here's what my 'Stuff' was this time around, but it can change each time.  The secret, boiling the noodles in 1/2 Bud Light & 1/2 water.

Bud Light Mac'n'Cheese'n'Stuff:

-2 boxes of Kraft Mac'n Cheese
-1/2 stick of butter/margarine
-1 bottle of Bud Light
-1/4 cup of milk
-6 strips of bacon cooked crispy and broken up
-3 deli slices of your favorite meat.. I used pastrami
-2 cups of your favorite cheese(s).. I used cheddar, Taco blend, and parmesan
-1 tsp garlic powder
-1 tsp onion powder
-1 tsp black pepper
or whatever your favorite seasonings are... kick it up with chili powder or hot peppers

Boil the noodles in water and 3/4 of the bottle of Bud Light. Strain the noodles once ready (7-8 minutes boiling. They shouldn't be hard, but not to mushy) Mix the butter, rest of the Bud light and seasonings with 1 packet of the cheese powder from the Kraft Mac 'n Cheese. Stir together! Then add the cheese(s). Mix up until the cheese is melted, and then add 'THE STUFF'. I did bacon and pastrami, but you can use any meats. Don't eat meat, put some tomatoes and mushrooms in it.  Whatever 'Your Stuff' is.  Mix it all together. You can eat it right away, or put in the frig overnight to get even more flavor. Quick and yummy meal and can also Rock a tailgate party with Bud Light.

B.P put to the B.L test...

Okay, Bud Light is a Great drinking beer, but it's also fantastic to cook with.
Here's another recipe I put to the Bud Light Taste test.
Bud Light gives it just a bit more of a robust flavor with a bit of a kick.

Bud Light Sweet Cinnamon Bread Pudding

1 1/4 cups of milk
1/2 cup Bud Light
1/2 cup brown sugar (you can also use regular sugar)
1 1/2 tsps cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
1 Egg & 1/3 cup egg whites (for lighter version) or 2 eggs
5 cups of your favorite bread- I used cinnamon swirl bread and cinnamon mini bagels
1 cup of Heath bits

*Mix well with a whisk -milk, Bud Light, vanilla, eggs/whites & cinnamon- Cut the bread in cubes and sprinkle the brown sugar on it every cup you add to the bowl you put the bread in. You can also sprinkle a bit more cinnamon too. Mix the bread with the liquid mixture and mix in 1/2 cup heath bits. Put in a 1 1/2 Quart dish (I sprayed it with butter flavored Pam). Sprinkle some more brown sugar on top. Bake in a pre-heated oven 350 for about 40-45 minutes. Its done when a knife comes out clean about 1 inch from the edge.

While it's baking get the sauce ready..
16 oz Carmel Sauce (Hershey's is fat free, but high sugar)
1 Tablespoon Bud Light
Mix together for the sauce.

You can also add a topping.... 3 Tbs brown sugar, bit of cinnamon, 1/4 cup of heath  bits and 1/3 cup of cinnamon chips!

Serve the bread pudding warm with the sauce poured on top. Store any left overs in containers with air tight lids in the refrigerator.

Another Bud-Light-licious recipe. Good for dessert. Breakfast... Sure sign of a Yummy Good Time! Here We Go!

B.L. going Italian...

Meat loaf is making a big comeback. Recipes popping up in magazines and online. Even pans created just for meatloaf.  Well how about a Bud Light meatloaf to add to the mix.(rolled meat in sauce).
It's easy to make, just make sure you have plenty of time for bake time which takes about 1 hour 15-30 minutes.
But worth the wait...

This recipe is inspired by the 'Italian Bracciloli

Bud Light Italian Meatloaf

1 pound of groud beef (90-10 or 80-20) you can also use ground turkey, chicken...
4 slices of bacon
(you can also use turkey bacon)
1 egg
1-cup of Italian bread crumbs
1 teaspoon of garlic powder (total 1/2 in the loaf and 1/2 rolled with it)
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of dried parsely
1 teaspoon of oregano
1 teaspoon of basil
1 teaspoon of thyme
1/4 to 1/2 cup of onio chopped
(optional...also use onion powder if you don't ike onion chuncks)
1- 8 ounce can of tomato sauce  or Marinara sauce
(I went for the marinara 1 cup w/ 1/4 cup Bud Light)
1 bottel of Bud light that will be used in several areas of the 'Italian Meatloaf'

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Add 1/3 cup of Bud Light to 2/3 cup of water.  Set a side.
Fry  the bacon until it's really crispy and crumble it.Set a side.  Take the onion and saute it with a pinch of garlic powder and 2 tablespoons of Bud LIght until all the liquid is gone. Take off heat.

Combine the ground beef, cup of bread crumbs (might have to add a little more if it seems too moist to roll), egg, garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon, a pinch of salt , also 1/2 of the bacon and onion, also combine all the seasonings together and use 1/2 of them in the meat... in a large bowl  (Wash your hands really well-)it's easier to combine with your hands. 1st time Rocked...

So earlier in the week, Ted & I went to a cool Bud Light Bash,
where I played roulette
(for chips not money) for the 1st time! :)

I was told I did good.. made around 65,000 chips with my 10,000 I started with.

I never seem to win when I'm actually using cash.
Last time we went to Vegas, we lost in every casino we stepped into.
Gotta find a way to reverse that huh. :)

Happy Weekend!

Bud Light-licious...You need to try this!!

Bud Light-licios Rita w/ Sweet & Salty Bud Light-licious snack mix...
Warning: It's deliciously addictive...

Here's a Bud Light
Yummy Recipe  to keep you cool during the Heat Wave.  Remember to Drink Responsibly and plan a safe ride home.

Bud Light-licious  Rita
1- Bottle of Bud LIght
1- Bottle of Bud Light Lime
1- Can frozen concentrate Limeade
(pink lemonade Rocks too)
1- can of water after it's limeade has been removed
1- Ice
1- Salt/Sugar for the rim of the glass
(I'm a sugar girl)
1- Lime cut in

(optional)

*MIX together the Bud Light and Bud Light Lime with the limeade/pink lemonade. Add the can of water and MIX. You could have ice in a glass and have a Bud Light on the Rocks, or my choice blended with the ice. Put sugar/salt around the rim of the glass. Squeeze a bit of fresh lime in it.
Bud Light Rita is Bud LIght-licious!

It goes great with...Sweet:
3 cups of Honey Nut Chex Mix
1 1/2 cups of mini pretzels
1 cup of peanuts
(I used dry roasted...Honey roasted would Rock too)
1/2 stick of margarine/butter
12 oz bag of chocolate chips
1/2  bottle of Bud Light
2 cups of powdered sugar

Bud Light-licious Sweet & Salty Snack (chex) mix!

Salty:
3 cups of Corn Chex
1 1/2 cups of mini pretzels
1 cup of peanuts
1/2 stick of margarine/butter
2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon of multi seasoning salt
( I used Emeril's original seasoning)
1/4 cup of Bud Light

Sweet:
-In a sauce pan melt the chocolate chips, margarine and 1/2 bottle of Bud Light. Once it's sauce, pour slowing over the chex, peanuts and pretzel mixture that's in a bowl.  Gently stir until all the mix is covered in chocolate. Let cool in the refrigerator....

Salty:
-In a sauce pan bring to a simmer the margarine, worcestershire sauce and Bud Light. Once it's thickened a bit, pour the mix over the chex, peanuts and pretzel mixture thats in a bowl.
Once coated, put on cookie sheet and bake at 325-350 degrees until the mixture is dry. While this is cooling.,,,

Mix together...
... put 2 cups of powdered sugar in a gallon zip lock bag and pour the sweet chocolate snack mix in the bag. Close it up and toss is around in the bag until its all coated in powdered sugar.

In a bigger bowl, mix the sweet/chocolately mix with the salty one. Don't mix the 2 mixes together until you are ready to serve/eat it. Keep the 'Sweet' chilled and the 'Salty' room temp.   This is perfect for a YUMMY snack, party... IT WOULD ROCK AT A TAILGATE PARTY!

Here's another B.L YUMMY!!

Here's a yummy sweet Bud Light treat that would go great with your future football parties!!

You can either go really easy by getting pre-made chocolate cookie dough or go the
homemade route
(which is what I did)

Chocolatey Peanut Pretzel Bud Light Bars

Ingredients:
-Tub of chocolate chip cookie dough

(pretty much the Toll house recipe on the back of the bag with a few tweaks)

*Homemade cookie dough

2 1/4 cups of  flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking poweder
1 tsp salt
4 T Bud Lite (from bottle of Bud Light)
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 c brown sugar
3/4 c sugar
2 sticks of margarine (room temp)
2 large eggs- (room temp)
1  12 ounce bag of chocolat chips for the cookie bar part
also need another bag for the rest of the recipe- 1 24 ounce bag of chocolate chips
1 cup of mini pretzels broken up
1 cup of honey roasted peanuts
( I used butter roasted peanuts from central market)
1 cup of chocolate chips for topping...

Bud Light chocolate drizzle sauce:
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 cup of butterscotch chips
1/ 4 cup of Bud Light

MIX the sugars, butter, eggs, vanilla, Bud Light together with a mixer. Add the dry ingredients and then fold in the 12 ounce bag of chocolate chips/half of the 24 ouncer. Put this cookie dough in a greased (butter flavor crisco spray) pan. Spread the dough in the pan, but make sure to leave about  1 cup out for the topping.  Add the 1 cup of broken pretzels, 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips & the peanuts.  Drop 1 inch drops of the rest of the cookie dough on top of the topping mixture and add the rest of the chocolate chips. Press down over the topping.   Bake @ 350 - 35-45 minutes

Once it's golden brown and you test the middle to make sure it's baked through, let cool. While it's cooling melt the chocolate & butterscotch chips in 1/4 cup  of Bud Light on lower heat on the stove (You could also microwave it) Drizzle the Bud Light chocolate  sauce over the bars.  Once completely cooled, cut in bars! ENJOY!
Bud  Light is a sure sign of a good  YUMMY Chocolatey time! Here we go!!

I dropped some off in the breakroom this morning-
Brianna (co-worker) -  Amazing!!! There is Bud Light in there?? Wow, so good! Thanks!

Something to try over the weekend...

Big O emailed me his salsa recipe that he's heading to the store to get some Bud Light to put it to a taste test in his Salsa. I'm going to have to try it out soon too! YUMMY...

Big O's (Bud Light) Salsa:
-Small batch- roast 4 med. Tomatoes,
(I like the flavor of the Roma's)
- 4 large jalapenos(to taste)
- half clove of garlic. (All roasted where the outter skin turns black) I don't de-seed, but u can if u want.
-1 cup of Bud Light
-2 tablespoons salt ( or to taste)

How to make:
Once tomatoes are mushy in the center and ur peppers and garlic are blackened, throw the contents into the blender with about 1 cup water,(or BUD LIGHT) in this case. 2 tablespoons

salt. Or to taste. Blend..... pour... dip chips... enjoy. Refrigerate and enjoy-repeat. Makes about enough to fit in a med Tupperware.

Big O said the salsa tastes similar to a place in San Antonio:

"The next time you get to San Antone you should try Rosario's. Its in the Prince William areas.  Good salsa, music, food, and margaritas.
Have to try the Bud Light margarita sometime. It Rocks too!

B.L. Burritos Rock...

Ted and I had an extra special Taco Tuesday night. It turned into
Bud Light Burrito night....

Bud Light Burrito
- 1lb of hamburger 90/10
(you could also use ground turkey or chicken)
-
Taco seasoning packet / or if you have a free shake, like what  I used, until the hamburger is coated
- Bottle of Bud Light...
-Shredded cheese of your choice
- sour cream/ could also use plain fat free Greek yogurt if you're cooking healthier with the ground chicken/turkey.
-Burrito shells
*chopped onions, peppers, lettuce, tomato, beans... are optional depending on what you like

*Brown hamburger (you could also add chopped onion and pepper). Drain the grease from the hamburger. Put the hamburger back on the heat and add the Taco seasoning  about 1/2 to 2/3  of a 12oz bottle of Bud Light. Simmer about 10-15 minutes, until the Bud Light has cooked down in the meat. While your burrito mixture is simmering pour a bit of Bud Light on 2 paper towels and put the shells in between the paper towels.  Microwave for about 20- 30 seconds, just enough for the shells to come out moist and warm.
When the mixture is ready take off the heat, and start creating your Bud Light Burritos.
We made a meat, cheese and sour cream Bud Light Burrito. Of course you can add tomatos, lettuce, beans, whatever you love in your burritos.  Bud Light Burritos are great for dinner, and would Rock a tailgate party! Have Fun & Enjoy!

Bud Light- A sure sign of a 'Yummy' Good Time-
Here we go!!!

What's cook'n in Heather's kitchen..............

Breakfast for dinner...

Ted & I  have pancakes at least once a week. I'm big on Breakfast for dinner.  We thought how would a pancake taste mixed with Bud Light.  Don't knock it until you've tried it....

Bud Light Chocolate Chip Pancake
-Pancake mix
-Bud Light
-tsp. vanilla
-chocolate chips Mini or regular a handful
-butter
-maple syrup

-Mix pancake mix with vanilla and Bud Light. Use enough Bud Light until the mixture can easily pour out of the bowl, but not to thin. Once the batter is in the pre-heated pan (sprayed with butter flavored pam) add the chocolate chips . Flip when it's golden brown. Fork test it, to make sure it's cooked all the way thru. I cooked it in a smaller pan and put a plate over it while it was cooking, which made the pancake rise more. Butter and maple syrup complete the 'Bud Light Chocolate Chip Pancake' experience. It's got a bit of an afterbite Bud Light kick. I have never tried this before, and Bud Light passed the Breakfast for Dinner taste test! Tasty, Easy to make!  Give it a try!

I was watching Emma Stone interview with Jay Leno. She was talking about making Chocolate Chip & Bacon Pancakes. Next time I'm going to have to add the 'Bacon' to the Bud Light Chocolate Chip Pancake. I'm thinking that would be EXTRA TASTY!!

Weekend Good Times w/ B.L. goodies...

Over the weekend, Ted and I hit the store for some
important items Bud Light and charcoal...

A craving for  smoked sausages and potato salad hit us.
We gave them an extra kick with Bud Light...

These 2 yummies are EASY to make. Here's the 411:

Bud Light Smoked Sausage/or Brats...
-Grab your favorite sausage/brat poke them once with a fork
-Cut in strips whatever type of peppers are your fav.
We used 1/2 a red, 1/2 orange and 1/2 yellow.
-1/3 onion...whatever your fav. We used 1/3 of a sweet onion
Put the sausage/brats in a container with the peppers and onion.
Pour 12oz of  Bud Light in the container with the meat and veggies.
Seal it either with tin foil/lid and put it in the frig to marinate overnight.

Heat up the veggies in a cast iron pan on the grill (or you can do it on your stove in a pan), while grilling the sausage/brat.
Grill to your liking!

-If you want less carbs, you don't have to have bread. But it sure is good with bread, especially the Sara Lee hoagie type buns we got. They would also Rock with the pretzel bread at Central Market!

Bud Light Potato Salad!
-1-1/2 pound of potatoes- whatever is your Fav. We used the red skinned potatoes.
-2 5.3 ounce plain Greek fat free yogurt
( you can also use mayo, but the Greek yogurt is healthier and tastes really good too not as sweet)
-1/4 cup of Sweet Gherkin pickles chopped up (cucumbers, dill or whatever pickle you like)
-1-2 table spoons of Bud Light
-1 table spoon garlic powder (or 1/2-1 clove of garlic)
-1 table spoon black pepper
( this is really peppery/w kick if you want it less kick ½ tablespoon.. or you could use other pepper, Chili pepper, jalapeño            peppers…)
-1 table spoon- multi season.. whatever you like.
(We did an italian salt free type one)
If you want it a bit sweeter, add a couple tablespoons of sugar or even honey!

-Cut potatoes in chunks and boil in a pan with 1/2 water and most of the 12 ounces of Bud Light (save a bit for the mixture 1-2 tablespoons). Add seasonings to the water splash of garlic powder, black pepper, and multi seasoning, or whatever your favorite seasonings are. Boil the potatoes until they are soft, but not falling apart. Let them cool a bit before adding the mixture. While the potatoes are boiling, get the mixture together.

-Mix together the plain Greek yogurt, with the seasonings, mustard and Bud Light.
Once the potatoes have cooled a bit, mix them in the mixture until they are all coated nicely. You could eat it right after you mix, but putting the potato salad in the frig overnight is EVEN BETTER!'

It's a sure sign of a Good Time... with Bud Light sausage/brats and Bud Light Potato Salad. HERE WE (YUMMY) GO!

Bud Light sausage with a yummy Bud Light Potato Salad
and a chilled Bud Light. Ted gave it a HUGE THUMBS UP!!!

Get UR Grill'n on...

*Bud Light BBQ Chicken

1 Ziplock Gallon Size Baggie
4-6 Ounce Boneless Chicken Breasts  (we did 2)
Seasonings of your choice
Our choices:
-Garlic powder (can use cloves)
-White pepper
-Onion powder
-California Season (Mixture Red & Green Peppers & Black Pepper)
-1/2 Bottle Bud Light (2 breasts)
-Touch of water

-Put chicken Breasts in Baggie...Coat the breasts
lightly with each seasoning...add 1/2 bottle of Bud Light
w/ a bit of water...Marinate for 24 Hours in the Frig.

Bud Light Corn on the Cobb
-1 Ziplock Gallon Baggie
- Ears of Corn (we did 2)
-1/2 bottle of Bud Light
-1 Cup of Water

...Put corn w/ Husks & all in the baggie..
Pour in the Bud light & water...
Close up the baggie let set for 24 hours
in the Frig... You will grill the corn in
the husks, so they are wet & won't burn...

*BBQ Sauce:
You can use your favorite...
Since our chicken had a lot of
peppery spice to it.. I went for the
sweeter BBQ Sauce..
-1/2  Bottle of  Stubbs Sweet Molasses BBQ Sauce
-1/3 Botte of Stubbs Original BBQ Sauce
-1-2 TBS of Hot 'N Sweet Hickory Farms Mustard
-3 TBS of Apple Butter
-3 TBS of Honey
...Mix it all together than heat it in the microwave
for about 1 minute...makes  enough for the chicken when
grilling & extra to have on your plate!

-Next Night for Dinner/Party:
We used Ready Light Charcoal..
Ready to start the grilling once
the Charcoal has a white look
to it.. Put the corn/w/husks & all
on the Grill about 1/2 hour turning
every 10 minutes...Its ready
when the corn is soft.. If you can
push in w/ a fork. It's Done...
If your Grill has a top shelf, stick
them up there to keep warm...

*Put the Chicken on the grill
& turn every 5 minutes, this
will keep it from drying out &
keep the juices in it...Chicken is
usually done about 15 minutes...
Put sauce on 1 side..let it set for 2 minutes...
Flip..more sauce on the other side..Let set for
2 minutes or so.. Take off heat..
Done!!! (I like to check the middle of the
chicken to make sure it's not pink...white)
*Also grilled a few pineapple slices!!!
 !!! :)

*ENJOY  YOUR BUDLIGHT BBQ CHICKEN & CORN
 w/ a COLD BUD LIGHT ...
