To Help

MISSOURI's State Emergency Management Agency has set up ways to donate funds or offer to volunteer in the short-term or long-term recovery efforts. Click here to help.

THE HEART OF MISSOURI UNITED WAY has launched a JOPLIN Relief Fund, promising 100% of all donations will be given to relief efforts in JOPLIN. Text "JOPLIN" to 864833 to make a $10 donation, or visit www.uwheartmo.org.

A Great use for Facebook/Twitter:
There are folks who are still trapped with no food/water using Facebook and Twitter to try to be located and rescued, since internet connection/phone service to a certain degree has been restored!!
"

Facebook posts like this:'

"...there are people posting on FB that they are alive and wanting to be rescued from a trailer park behind Flying J near 32nd St. If anyone can reach them, they have no way out and no food or water."

 Update 5/25/11:
The Red Cross very much needs whatever help you can give. With another round of Tornadoes last night causing destruction and fatalities in Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas (again).  Also there are many still missing and in need to be found in Joplin. You can make a donation that will help several areas through the red cross...

The Red Cross depends on financial donations to help in times of disaster. Those who want to help people affected by disasters like tornadoes, floods and wildfires, as well as countless crises at home and around the world, can make a donation to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief. This gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to disasters. Visit www.redcross.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS; people can also text the word “REDCROSS” to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Contributions may also be sent to local American Red Cross chapters or to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.
