I was adopted when I was 3 weeks old, and growing up, my parents always told me I was wanted. I've always felt that way too. I'm a very sad Bears fan today to discover the news about Brian Urlacher's mom passing away unexpectedly. He's left the team for now to be with his family. I understand how it is to  lose your mom in an unexpected way. You will never get over it, but able to deal with it better each day.
âMy first priority right now is to be with my family as we mourn her loss and make the arrangements to lay her to rest,â Urlacher said in a statement released by the Bears. âThis is a very difficult and emotional time for us and I sincerely ask that you respect our privacy. Thank you.â
Urlacher has been excused from the team to be with his family.
Ted woke up this morning to the sound...or I should say 'NO perking sounds'.
He had 3 GREAT eye opening years with the coffee maker, but it bit it this morning. What a way to wake up! I made fun of him for his little camping coffee maker a while ago, but it came in handy this morning. Tonight we shop for a new edition to the household.
Huey's cool with it. It doesn't affect his treats or toys. :)

Ted, Huey and I loaded up the mini and headed to
Corpus for the holiday weekend. Just a few hours
drive and your at the beach. We stayed at the Omni Hotel on North Shore Blvd. Newly remodeled, with
some of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on
in a hotel. They take dogs up to 25lbs, so Huey was Happy!!

BTW great place to stay that is newly remodeled/decorated with one of the

Great Eats: Italian food... 'Mamma Mia's' open at 5pm only for dinner!
Just make sure you have cash on you that is all they take, but they do have an ATM nearby,
which was very convenient!!
The short trip over the weekend was the highlight for Ted, Huey & I of the Memorial Day Weekend!

'A Day To Shine' benefiting the 'National Dating Abuse Helpline'. 1-866-331-9474 | 1-866-331-8453 A nationwide organization, based out of Austin, that helps
teens and young adults who are in violent/abusive
dating relationships and also those who are abusive.
Try to catch it earlier before it develops into something even
more abusive during their adult lives!!
My 16 year old niece Kaiti, I hope would never
be in a situation where she needed this help, but
if she did, I'm Thankful they are there for her
and other young people nationwide!!!

My Daddy, Maurice, had to put his poodle Carmen down
on Saturday morning.... She would have been 16 on July 5th!!
Something weird, Ted knew that is happened before I told him
when I got off the phone w/ my Daddy yesterday. He said on Saturday
night he saw a quick Brown streak shoot past our Bedroom. He thought it
was Huey at first, but he was in the living room . He had a feeling that Carmen
had passed. Weird, since he doesn't really get into all that kind of spirit stuff.
Even though she Barked ALOT.. & always had 'THE LAST WORD'
when you'd tell her to stop! She was a Cutie that will be MISSED! *Be strange when I go home to Omaha, NE at the end of this week for the Holiday, that she won't be around!Â

& drops you (Ted got bruises on his biceps for holding on so tight,
but he wouldn't let me take a pix of that.. LOL) ...LOVED THAT TOO!!! He got
an early B-Day Present .... ..It amazes me with the technology we have
why it's still tedious to get your New Lap Top

It's been about 24 hours...
Huey's hanging in there..
We all had a rough night last night,
since he was in some pain/discomfort.
But Huey is taking it like a trooper.
He had the eye bump removed & 2 teeth
pulled rather than 1... so of course 'lil
guy would be feeling the pain when things
started to wake up. This morning he was better
than yesterday.. even got his 'WTF' Look...
But his eye is healing nice...

Grandfather 'Poppy' passed away at the age of 93.
 When I was talking w/ her last night for a bit, she was talking
a bit about 'Poppy'. In his younger years, he loved to FLY....
But she just found out that he knew.... ......Amelia Earhart. She never knew that.
After my conversation w/ her, I realized how
true that is. You spend forever growing up
w/ your family & always seem to find out
something about them ,that you wished
you would have known when they were with
you...You could ask them about it..hear
their stories...When my Mom & Grandma
passed  over 6 years ago, about 3 days a part, I
found out many things I never knew before...
Especially about my Grandma Ginny. She wasn't
very open about talking about herself when
I would visit her. But going thru her things, I
found she was an Awesome Writer. Some of
the letters she wrote were filled w/ so
much Heart & Emotion, far from the woman
I thought I knew...I guess where I'm going
w/this is 'TAKE SOME TIME' to find out
even more about your 'LOVED ONES'...
You'd be surprised how much you
'DON'T KNOW'!!!

...7Year Old Shih Tzu who is 'Cute' & 'Stubborn'.
He's a VERY GOOD BOY except he loves to make a
production of going out to do his business.
He's not a walker. He just stands in one place 'til someone
comes by & says hey to him, or tells him he's cute.
When people ignore him, HUEY HATES THAT!!
So, you have to plan a head when you take him out,
have plenty of time. If you are in a Hurry, FORGET ABOUT IT...
HUEY DOESN'T CARE!!!
...Okay, but I stray from the 'Nothing Wrong w/ This? Statement...
Huey's a Good Boy except for that one quirk. He Gets a lot of Toys!!!
He Loves his Toys!!! But when peeps drop by, they get this weird
look on their face when they see ALL THE TOYS!
They ask questions like..Do you have kids? Or All of these Huey's? *YEP, THEY ARE ALL HUEY'S!!Â
He's very protective of his toys
Huey's my Furry Kid!!!!
*So are the Toys an underlying response to wanting
something more?? Kids?? Some may say 'YES'...
I say 'NO'!! Huey just LOVES TOYS!!!
It makes him Happy. He Enjoys them. They aren't
hurting anyone! LET THE TOY TRAIN KEEP COMING!!! ...Anyway, it's much easier to leave Huey with some
food & water for a bit and not have to worry about a
babysitter. Huey has plenty of company with his Toys.
Plus, Huey knows when I'm gone long or shopping,
he will get a 'Treat' or another 'NEW TOY'!!!

Ted went on a journey to get '8th Anniversary'
items to make the day special...Bronze is for
8 years of marriage...so the Triple 'Bronze' rings...
3 of them w/ the 8 years means  'GOOD LUCK' (24 a Lucky number...gonna try those for my next 'Quick Picks')...
Pottery is also part of the '8th Year Tradition'...so the MUG w/ my initial on it...
I was like 'AAAAHHH'..which is what the ladies in the store did too... :)
...BUT WAIT...There was MORE.. '8th Anniversary' is also 'Lace & Linen'...
so I went into my bathroom & found 'Hot Pink Lacy Lingere',
which he bought at 'Frederick's'Â ...IT FIT & WAS CUTE...
the 'Linen' was VERY COOL 'ANIMAL PRINT SHEETS',
which were very comfortable to sleep in & do other things too... :)

I was thinking about giving him a 'Rocker' name.. 'Izzy'..something like that.
But when I was filling out the paper work to get him, Ted was sitting on a
plastic type lawn chair...Huey kept trying to jump in his lap under the chair,
of course that wasn't working. He was just brushing his head against the chair.
That's when Ted said 'He's Baby Huey'...IT STUCK!!!
