Hawaiian Holiday VK.. Anyone?

Word is President Obama & family have a 17 Holiday VK planned in Hawaii that will cost taxpayers about $4 million dollars. A big chunk of that goes to air travel, security, lodging for security & staff.... lots of other things they can't list because of security purposes. Click here to check out the run down of what things cost. Example, the separate flight that The First Lady Michelle will be taking costs about $63,000. They have a home in Hawaii that they pay for, but instead they are renting a place that is close to the beach.

Is this to much? Or expected because it's the President & family, so naturally it will cost more, to make sure they are safe.

Lady GaGa was busy this weekend, from a music festival in Vegas, to attending a $35,800 per couple fundraiserfor President Obama.

Gagaâs attendance at the fundraising event comes after the singer tweeted that she would be meeting the president and intended to discuss youth bullying with him in relation to the suicide of Jamey Rodemeyer, the 14-year-old student who took his own life last week after years of bullying.
No photos were allowed to be taken by the press.Â Lady G supposedly had hair and heels so high they made her look around 8 feet tall.Â This is going to be the 'Hot Picture' to get/have, since pictures weren't allowed.

Gaga reportedly wore a black dress scalloped high plunge back and high heels. Her blond hair was upswept, with black flowers and black veil sweeping down back of hair.

Just the 'GaGa' way to get the attention she wanted for a great cause... TO STOP BULLYING!!

Larry Flynt, 'Hustler Magazine', will pay $1 Million to the person who can dig up info about Governor Rick Perry's sexual encounters.
The king of smut is credited for uncovering the extra-marital affairs of Louisiana Republican Rep. Bob Livingston during President Bill Clintonâs impeachment hearings. Livingston resigned in the aftermath. Later, Flynt helped expose Sen. David Vitter, also of Louisiana, as a client of a D.C. prostitution ring.

Is this really necessary during a time where we need to worry about jobs, the economy, wars, and even satellites crashing down on us? It would be nice if instead of pulling dirt on a candidate, about their personal affairs, they would dig deep to find out what a candidate can actually do to help the good of the nation. I know, that's boring... Mud slinging, name calling and finding morale faults on politicians is way more entertaining during a campaign. I'm still waiting to hear how anyone is going to fix the mess we are in right now.

What are your thoughts on this?

Sidenote on the Satellite...
NASA saying it could fall sometime late this afternoon into early morning hours tomorrow.
They are putting the odds of a falling part to hit anyone atÂ 1-3200. Does that scare anybody else besides me?Â Supposedly an individual hit on a particular person is around 1 in 20 trillion.Â Just remember you are more likely to have aÂ part of a satellite fall on you than win the lottery. That is the kind of luck we don't need.

...Most likely by far is that the remains of the satellite will drop into the ocean, or be strewn across one of the planet's most desolate regions, such as Siberia, the Australian outback or the Canadian tundra. Nasa put the odds of anyone being struck by a falling part of the spacecraft at one in 3,200. Marine Corps Corporal, Dakota Meyers (21 years old) is receiving the Medal of Honor today for saving 36 lives during an ambush in Afghanistan 2 years ago! 19 years old at the time. Amazing.Â Â Yesterday, he had a one-on-one beer w/President Obama. He asked the President, 'What is the best way to be succesful?'Â Presidents Obama's answer/ advice..."'you know, first thing, get an education andÂ just take it slow and don't try to make any rash decisions.'"
Good advice, wonder if that's working for President Obama?Â Â YOU ROCK DAKOTA!

If you could have a beer w/ the President would you? I think it would be cool to kick back with the President with a Bud Light.Â Maybe ifÂ Congress and the House all got togetherÂ with President Obama, over a beer, they could come up with some type of compromise on the economy, jobs... everything!

Happy September 1st- Celebrate with 'New Texas Laws'..

September 1st, and approximately 700 new traffic and criminal laws take effect today.
If you are planning a road trip for Labor Day weekend, this is good to know.
Speed limits will now be the same during night and day driving, and separate speed limits for trucks have been eliminated. The maximum speed limit on state highways may be raised to 75 miles per hour if approved after a finding by TxDOT that the increased speed would be reasonable and safe following an engineering and traffic investigation. (HB 1353)

It will be better cause it's smaller?Â Think it might be better to have folks outside of the government like big CEO's, business owners, accountants.... Insurance for ALL???

Is it a Good thing??Â Guess we'll find out in the near future..
I'mÂ FOR a NE PLAN, but the one that is coming at us...
Not sure???Â I really don't understand what it's all about???
...Even though it has been explained (sorta) over & over...
I found this helpful:

-If you suffer from a serious illness like cancer, your insurance company can no longer cap how much it will cover per year, which should help with steep medical bills.
(Sounds Good, but hope there is something in this bill that insurance companies can't charge you Over the Top Higher premiums!)

If you have a pre-existing condition, $5 billion has been set aside to help the uninsured until new reform takes effect in 2014. (Good again, but will the premiums be hiked up...and $5 Billion will probably go extremely Quickly the way our Government spends money.. where is that coming from anyway??)

Parents can now include children on their policies until age 26, so if those children are without a job at any point, they won't be without insurance. (Sounds Good.... but is this Â something that sounds Good, to Good to be True??)

The full reform takes over in 2014. That means Medicaid will expand. (Okay..Expand how?)

You must have health coverage or you will be fined one percent of your income the first year, two percent the next. (Not Digging this.. if you can't afford insurance..which it's my understanding this bill is made so we can..but if you can't.. you certainly wouldn't be able to afford the 'FINE'..HHHMM!)

Small businesses, the self-employed, and unemployed can pool resources and buy less expensive coverage. (Good...but hopefully Less Expensive doesn't mean sub-standard Benies/Health Care)

And are subsidies for families of four who make less than $88,000 per year. To offset premiums, families will get tax breaks based on household income." (Sounds Good, but will there end up beingÂ owed later???.. Seen this before.. get a break.. to see it coming back to get ya when it's time to file taxes!!..)

*These are just initial thoughts I have about what I've heard & read about the Bill. I do believe we need a much better Health Care System. One that we canÂ ALLÂ Â AFFORD...Keep Hospitals & Drug Companies from Charging to much for an item/service..Example, I recently had a blood test that cost $197.. Insurance paid $50 of it..I owed $8... so a bit less than $60 for the test was accepted.. what happens to the other money?Â If theÂ Docs/hospitals will accept that price..why charge $197... Of course someone without insurance can't afford the $197 as easily as $60...Why not charge $60 to begin with?Â Doesn't make since to me??Â ..Anyway.. we all have a lot to learn about this new Bill and what could be coming our way. Try not toÂ FEARÂ Â 'THE CHANGE', butÂ EMBRACE ITÂ & find out what it's all about & how it can/will affect you & your family.. GO FROM THERE!!!Â Â LET'S HOPE THIS REFORM CREATESÂ WA Y MORE GOOD THAN BAD!

This morning I ran across an unusual Blog...
called 'First Guns'...

...Dedicated to First Lady Obama's 'Arms'...Her fit muscles, especially
her arm muscles have been getting a lot of attention lately, so a blog popped up in their honor...
Seems weird, but when I checked it out, it's written w/ the 'Arms' in mind...
Rather entertaining... or just someone with way to much time on their hands...I think BOTH!!

....HHHMMM...Â I'd go w/ my 'Feet', which have something in common w/Paris Hilton...
BothÂ have Size 11!!!Â Call it Â 'BIG SIZE 11s'.... I always said I didn't get the 'Big Tah Tahs', the size kept going down to my feet. You would think w/ such big feet, I would have good balance, but I'm pretty clumsy. went to D.C to experience 'HISTORY'
1st Hand... Here's part of an email she sent
me explaining what went down...

***Tuesday, the Inauguration day!!!!
Peter, Zoe, Josh & I get up early and head on out! We are bundled up, we have toilet paper (THANK YOU ZOE) and we are set to go. Along the way, my leg started bothering me so we grabbed a cab and they went their own way. The cabby dropped us off as close as he could, because everything was shut down!
We started walking and walking and walking and walking........there were hardly any signs on where to go. We had silver tickets and we needed to find the silver gate. We came to the 3rd street tunnel and it was amazing to see thousands of people just standing there-NOT moving! I found some cops and they told us to go to the 2nd street tunnel and we did. We were able to walk through it and a couple of times, we felt claustrophobic because (obviously,we were in a tunnel w/ thousands of people) But despite the amount of people, people seemed to be in a good mood. Some were singing and praying and just very excited to be on the way to the ceremony. We get out of the tunnel and there is a sign for the silver gate.
Yeahhhhh we are almost there, we stupidly thought! (silly kids)

Gulp!! we keep walking and walking & walking and walking..... and we finally find the silver gate area. Ok............now where is the end of the line????????

We kept walking & walking and walking past everyone that was in line & the line keeps getting longer and longer. There was a woman who was part of the volunteer committee and she was telling everyone to keep walking towards the end of the line, Josh asked her if were we going to get into our gate and she said she didn't know! NICE!! So we kept walking & walking & walking realizing that there was no way we were going to get into the silver gate area. After I had a little break down, we needed a plan B! So we thought we would try to meet up w/ Peter & Zoe who didn't have tickets. So we kept walking & walking. (by this time we walked around the Capitol to the Mall over 5 times) We walked over 2 1/2 hours. We get to 14th street and it's just a wall of people... not moving.
UGGG !! I had another "break down" because now we know that we are not going to see the Inauguration at all, which was really upsetting!!! Josh & I realized that all these people who were next to us were not going to get to see it either and we knew it was going to get ugly!!

PLAN C get us the hell out of here!!

By the grace of God, we found a cab!! Told the cabby to get us out of here and with in 15-20 minutes we were back at Peter's and Zoe warm house. We watched the Inauguration on tv!

Josh & I were not alone, apparently 3-4 thousand people who had tickets, could not get to the gate and there were several reasons why. 1) The inauguration committee only had ONE security gate that basically let one, maybe two people in at a time. (Now if you have that many people there, maybe you would want to have more than one gate....just like Disney) 2) The people at the gate let anyone in that gate-even if they didn't have tickets) 3) too many tickets were given out!
MY favorite reason that we read in the newspaper on why so many people could not get in was......because they were wearing too many bulky clothes!!!!!!!!

Yes, were disappointed that we didn't get to our gate, but all in all it was a great experience to be in DC and see all the people and to feel all the energy of this historical event. Plus, is was wonderful to spend time with Chris, Becky, Peter, Zoe and Cathy! We would not take that back for anything!

I had aÂ sports crowdÂ 'BOO' me once..'Raven's Stadium' when I lived in Baltimore.Â Ravens were playing the Bears..I'm a BIG BEARS FAN (thru GOOD & BAD...lots of BAD LATELY) ..had my 'Flashing Bears Hat' on to prove it.. The Stadium Camera guy put me on the Big Screen for a second..the next one was a stadiumÂ filled w/ 'Boos'... You would have thought they could have been a bit nicer..they Beat the Crap out of the Bears... BUT NO LOVE FOR A BEARS FAN... :(
