Since it was announced that Adele had to under go surgery on her vocal cords, Twitter, FB and all the social sites are blowing up on the cause of the surgery. The rumor 'CANCER'.  This rumor has been squashed according to this:
According to Entertainmentwise, a rep for Adele said, "We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100% false."
I's good that rumor isn't true. I hope she recovers 100%, so we can look forward to more Adele in 2012!
2 cups packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup milk (I use skim)
1/2 cup Bud Light (in place of water)
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1Â 1/2 cups pecan halves
Heat sugars, Bud Light, milk, corn syrup and salt to boiling in a large sauce pan or heavy 3-quart Dutch oven. (I don't have a D.O, so I used a good size saucepan). Reduce heat to medium. Cook, about 35- 45 minutes, stirring just the top foamy bubbles (usually 15 minutes without stirring, but the Bud Light causes the mixture to foam up, so you have to be patient as it cooks down. It was about 45 minutes for me.) Once your candy thermometer reaches 236 degress take off the heat. Let it cool, in the pan, without stirring for about an hour. The saucepan is cool to the touch.
Add vanilla and the pecan halves. Stir together until well mixed, but still has a shine to it. It will be very thick, so stirring will build those arm muscles. Drop mixture by the spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Let stand 1-2 hours, or until the candies are firm and no longer glossy and sticky.
Wrap each in wax paper or plastic warp, and store in an airtight container.
This is a perfect Halloween, holiday and anytime treat. :) Another Good Yummy Time w/ Bud Light!

Are you ready for November 18th? My honey Ted rolled his eyes the other night when we were watching something about 'Breaking Dawn Part 1'. All of a sudden, I went into the 'OH NO YOU DIDN'T TUDE', which isn't normally like me. I said, okay you can roll your eyes, You're not going with me to see the movie, because you will just bust on it ,and I don't want the experience to be ruined. I'm EXCITED about it. He said he was just kidding, he wanted to go with. He's read the books, and he wants to see the last part of the movies with me. He's seen all the other ones with me.  For now, he's going to be my date... but there's still 14 days... LOL...
Advice to guys taking your ladies for a date night... just refrain from any eye rolls or negative comments until she says something first. Especially, if she's a BIG TWILIGHT FAN! It's not fair, but it's safe to say if you do that, you will probably have a much more peaceful night. Maybe make a deal that during Sunday football, she has to return the favor. NO ROLLING THE EYES OR NEGATIVE COMMENTS!  Compromise is good for a relationship. :)

Toxicology results came back on the death of Amy Winehouse.
After initial autopsy resultsproved inconclusive, a coroner has determined that Amy Winehouse died from consuming an extreme amount of alcohol. The official ruling by coroner Suzanne Greenaway is "death by misadventure," and according to test results, the 27-year-old singer died with a blood alcohol level more than five times the drunk-drive limit.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tylerwas hospitalized earlier today, after taking a serious spill in a hotel bathroom in Paraguay, where his band was scheduled to perform. He was reportedly rushed to the La Costa medical center in Paraguay's capital city, Asuncion, after slipping on the wet floor of his hotel room's shower, suffering cuts to his face and knocking out two teeth.
Tyler spent almost four hours in the hospital, where doctors administered stitches, and affixed two dental implants to replace his lost teeth. He has since returned to his hotel to recover, after being discharged in "good condition," according to Reuters.
Due to Tyler's injuries, Aerosmith was forced to postpone tonight's concert until Wednesday (Oct. 26). They will, however, continue their tour, performing in Argentina, as planned, on Oct. 28.
Not great.. :( The British Q awards, she had to cancel her performance, since her voice is still throaty sounding and congested. That was apart when she accepted her Q award. Fans are sending her tweets of good JuJu for her voice to recover 100% and soon.

TheAustin Police DepartmentHighway Enforcement Command will be creating a Pedestrian Enforcement Safety Team, also known as PEST, to conduct a pedestrian initiative through Nov. 5.
They said the goal is to educate the community on pedestrian laws and to conduct enhanced enforcement operations. Police said they will choose locations based on crash data analysis.
Pedestrian violations include:
Pedestrian crossing at point other than crosswalk
Disregard pedestrian control device
Solicitation by pedestrian
Pedestrian crossing where prohibited. For example, MoPac and Interstate 35.

Thought I would stick w/ the candy Bud Light vibe since Halloween is just around the corner, and the Holidays. This would work for all of these occasions and just because you want some Bud Light Toffee!
Bud Light Toffee:
-1 cup of sugar
-1 stick of butter/margarine
-1/4 cup Bud Light
-1/2-3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
-1/2-3/4 cup finely chopped pecans (flavored kind is yummy too)
*You will need to whip out the trusty candy thermometer. Also have a large cookie sheet out and ready for the hot toffee. Best to prep before hand, because you really have to watch/ constantly stir the mixture so it doesn't burn.
1.) Heat the sugar, margarine/butter and Bud Light to boiling in a 2 quart saucepan, stirring constantly; reduce the heat to medium or a bit lower. Be careful the heat isn't to high (Bud Light tends to make things boil over quicker). Cook, around 15 minutes, still stirring constantly until you hit 300 degree temp on the candy thermometer. You can test a small amount of the mixture in very cold water. If it separates into hard brittle threads, it's ready. Be careful not to burn the mixture. Watch your heat and keep stirring. Another way to build arm muscles
2.) Once you hit 300 degrees, immediately pour the toffee onto an ungreased large cookie sheet. Spread the mixture about 1/4 inch thickness. Sprinkle w/ chocolate chips (white chocolate chips/ butterscotch..maybe a mixture..whatever makes you happy) , and let stand about 1 minute/or until the chips are completely softened. Spread the softened chocolate evenly over the toffee. Sprinkle w/ pecans.
3.) Let stand at room temperature about 1 hour. I also put it in the refrigerator another 10-15 minutes, so the chocolate was completely cool/set. Break into pieces and enjoy. If you have some left, store it in an airtight container. It should last for several days tasting FANTASTIC! :)
HHHMMM... Yummy Bud Light Toffee made another yummy good time in my kitchen. Try it in yours! :)
This makes a small batch. If you want a larger one, I would at least double the ingredients. :)

Taylor Farms Retail Inc. is voluntarily recalling 3,265 cases of various bagged salad blends that have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella.
The Salinas, Calif., company said Wednesday that its action comes after the Washington state Agriculture Department conducted a random test on a finished package of spinach.
The items were distributed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Puerto Rico and sold in various retail supermarkets.

I was giddy to hear that my #1 on my 'Fantasy Laminated List' would be in ATX during the Austin Film Festival. Johnny Depp is getting honored for all his talented hard work, his hotness is just a bonus.
Actor Johnny Depp will be in Austin for the Austin Film Festival! He will be our first-ever recipient of the Festivalâs inaugural Extraordinary Contribution to Film â Acting Award. Depp will also present Distinguished Screenwriter Awardee Caroline Thompson with her Award and be on hand for screenings of his new film The Rum Diary (based on the novel by Hunter S. Thompson) and a retrospective of Edward Scissorhands with Thompson.

This past Friday, I had a blast at the 1st Friday Texas Stars home game starting at the Bud Light Good Sport booth. Bud Light is rewarding designated drivers every Friday home game this season. I met lots of new friends, who made sure there was a Safe Ride Home plan in place. THEY ROCK!!!

Giuliana Ranci, E News host,  found out she has breast cancer while trying for a 3rd round of IVF  to have a baby. It was caught at the very early stages, so after surgery and 6 weeks of radiation, beating it looks good.  It's important to get a mammogram, early detection is ALWAYS better. If you feel like there is something wrong, but don't go in cause you can't afford it, there are many options to get help. Here's a tasty treat that Rocks anytime.. tailgating...game time... holidays... a snack. The Bud Light just kicks it up a yummy notch!!
It was my 1st time making Peanut Brittle. Ted used to make it with his Grandfather when he was young, so between the 2 of us, we got our ' Peanut Brittle' candy making on...
Bud Light Peanut Brittle
-1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
-1 teaspoon Bud Light
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1 1/2 cups of sugar-1/2 cup of water & 1/2 cup of Bud Light
-1 cup of light corn syrup
-3 Tablespoons of butter /margarine
-2 cups (16 0z ) peanute the norm is the Spanish peanuts, but honey roasted rocks for a sweeter taste.
*Candy thermometer - This is really important to have. Ted went all over ATX looking for one.
Finally found one at Bed Bath & Beyond! He said he should have gone there first. Making the Bud Light Peanut Brittle:
-Heat oven to 200 degrees. Grease w/spray pam 2 cookie sheets. Put the cookie sheets in the oven to keep warm. This is important so the sticky candy will spread about 1/4 inch thick without setting up right away.
-Mix baking soda, 1 tsp of Bud Light and the vanilla and set it aside. Mix sugar, 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of Bud Light and the corn syrup in a 3 -quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, once the candy thermometer reaches around 240 degrees it should be ready. Test it by dropping a small amount of the mixture into VERY COLD water. It should form a ball in the water and go flat when it's taken out. Then it's ready. (The Bud Light seems to cause the mixture to boil over easier, than if you were using all water. So make sure you keep an eye out it. Stir and lift the pan up a bit if it's looking like an eruption is going to happen. Be patient, it will turn into what you want! )
-Stir in butter/margarine and peanuts. Cook, about 13-15 minutes, stirring constantly. Once the candy thermometer reaches around 300 degrees  it should be ready. Test it by dropping a small amount of the mixture into VERY COLD water. It should separate into hard, brittle threads. Watch carefully so this doesn't burn. Once it's ready immediately take it off the heat. Quickly stir in the baking soda mixture until light and foamy. (The stirring stage to 300 with the peanuts will give your arm a work out. It will be thicker as you get closer to the 300 temp. Don't stop stirring. You can tag team the stirring like Ted & I did)
-Pour 1/2 of the candy mixture onto each warm cookie sheet and quickly spread about 1/4 inch thick with buttered spatula. Let them cool completely for about an hour. Then break into pieces and eat. Make sure you store in an airtight container, so it keeps a bit.
Ted was skeptical when we started, but the end result he enjoyed.. IT ROCKED in taste, crunch and chew! Bud Light creates another winner! Great for a football parties, holiday parties or just a snack cause you deserve it!

Workers, now trying to complete the final three flyovers bridges at the key highway intersection, will be pouring cement overhead on one of those bridges Saturday night. So, to protect those who otherwise would be beneath that work, the Texas Department of Transportation has several lane closures planned over a 14-hour period.
On I-35:* Northbound on the expressway will be reduced to one lane between Stassney Lane and Ben White from 1:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sunday.* Southbound on the expressway will be reduced to one lane between Oltorf Street and Ben White from 4:30 a.m. to noon Sunday.* The northbound access road will be just one lane between Teri Road and Ben White from 10 p.m. Saturday to 2:30 a.m. Sunday, then closed entirely at St. Elmo Road from 2:30 a.m. to noon Sunday. Cars on the access road will be detoured on St. Elmo and Woodward Street. All of which means that for about three hours in the middle of the night, northbounders will have only that detour and a single freeway lane to get by.
On Ben White:* The eastbound access road will be reduced to one lane between Congress Avenue and I-35, and closed entirely at I-35, from 3 a.m. to noon Sunday.
The $26 million project should be complete sometime in November, according to TxDOT.

When Dan Ouletteâs wife lost her mother Paula to lung cancer in 2008, only three months after being diagnosed, it was devastating to their family. To honor his mother-in-lawâs memory he organized for three consecutive years a Free to Breathe® event in Providence, R.I., where he lived at the time, to raise funds to support the National Lung Cancer Partnershipâs vital research, education and awareness programs.
At the end of 2010 Dan and his family packed their bags and moved to Austin, Texas and he has vowed to continue his mission by organizing the inaugural Free to Breathe® Austin 5K Fun Run/Walk, 1 Mile Walk and Kidsâ Dash on Saturday, November 5. A story about a bartender who got stiffed a tip, but had a note written on the receipt that she could lose a few pounds is the rumbles today. This is clearly not right. It's mean and hurtful. Unfortunately there are just some unhappy people in this world, who just want to bring others down. With the holidays coming, it's always good to brush up on what is considered a good tip for good service.  There's a website www.lousytippers.com that has all the 411.  This site suggests that you tip 20% or more for Good/Great service... 15% for average.. if it isn't that great, well not a big tip and a note why you didn't spread the money love to them. Only problem I have with the last one, should someone who gave you really crappy service get a tip at all?  That is the drama you can have when presented the check.
Here's a a recommended tipping chart:  I have found the bathroom attendant to be the most awkward. You may not have cash on you, but you need to use the restroom. Do you avoid going to the bathroom? Or stiff the attendant, who could make your next trip miserable? HHHMMM.. What do you think?

Congress w/Personique for a  pre-party before the  Drink Pink Ball. Helping to raise money and awareness for the Breast Cancer  Resource Centers of Texas.   Fabulous organization that has been helping people who are fighting cancer and their families since '95!  Mother Nature decided to drop by a special donation that was welcome too.

Doesn't seem like folks are too upset that the iPhone 5 isn't coming out yet. The iPhone 4s goes on sale Friday 10/14, but pre-sales hit 1 million just the 1st day it was announced.

They are doing away w/ separating the DVD and streaming videos with 2 separate fees and sites.
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said that Netflix would pull the plug on Qwikster, citing the confusion that would arise from having a separate, DVD-only offering. Qwikster and Netflix would have operated on two separate websites without integration between the two, requiring users to pay two different companies each month, maintain two separate profiles, and post any movie reviews twice.
"It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs," Hastings wrote. "This means no change: one website, one account, one password⦠in other words, no Qwikster." Click for more
Bud Light BBQ Meatballs are perfect for your next tailgate/football party or for dinner/lunch.
They go great with pasta, on bread as sub/sandwich, a pizza topping, on french fries with lots of cheese... They are YUMMY and easy to make.Bud Light BBQ Meatballs
-1 lb. lean ground beef (ground turkey or chicken)
- 1/2 cup of skim milk
-1/2 cup of Bud Light (have a bottle/can handy)
-1 TB worcestershire sauce
-2 tsps Italian seasoning
-1/2 tsp salt
-1/2 tsp mustard
-1/2 tsp black pepper
-1/2 tsp garlic powder (clove of garlic)
-1 egg
-1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
-1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese
-1/4 cup of onion
-1/2 cup of BBQ sauce + 1 TB of Bud Light
- 1 cup of cheese
-1/2 cup Parmesan cheese to taste
*Want Spicy BL BBQ MBs ? Add 1/2 tsp Chili powder or some chopped jalapeno peppers... Make them HOT BL BBQ MBs!! Double the recipe to have more for the party!Preheat oven to 350 Mix everything together (wash your hands and dig in).. roll into about 1 inch balls and place them in a greased 8x8 baking dish. (spray pam or olive oil) Pour the BBQ sauce over the top. Bake about 1 hour, until the meat is no longer pink. Add the cheese and bake for another 5 minutes, until it is melted. Take out and let it cool for a bit.Â
Serve them up on pasta, as a sandwich, eat them by themselves... Whatever works for you.

Thurs & Fri: 8am-Midnight
Saturday- (no longer free) 11am-Midnight
Sunday- Still FREE
These new hours apply to all street-side parking meters located between Cesar Chavez and 10th Street and from Lamar Boulevard to IH-35. All parking meters outside of this downtown area will have hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. As of now, one dollar can still buy you an hour of parking, with three hours still being the limit

Tomorrow/Saturday, October 8th marks the first ever House of Torment SCAREvenger Hunt. Armed with clues and cameras and dressed in their best zombie and monster attire, teams of up to 4 will be hitting the streets of Downtown and Central Austin for a scavenger hunt of ghoulish proportions. Entry fee is $10 per person and includes participation in the scavenger hunt, access to the Gattiâs Pizza after-party at the House of Torment, and a $15 House of Torment card that can be used toward tickets, Containment or the Scare Store. Prize packages will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams as well the winners of the costume contest. The SCAREvenger Hunt kicks off at 4:30 at Republic Square Park. Here's someone you don't want to spend Thanksgiving with...
A woman who killed her newlywed husband and chopped and cooked his body parts over Thanksgiving weekend in 1991 is seeking release from a California prison.
Omaima Nelson, an Egyptian-born former model and nanny, is set to appear before parole commissioners Wednesday at the Central California Women's Facility in Chowchilla where she has been serving a life sentence.
Nelson was convicted of murdering her 56-year-old husband William Nelson in a grisly killing that authorities likened to the fictional slayings of Hannibal Lecter.
Prosecutors said the then-23-year-old killed Nelson and likely plotted to steal from him as she had done with other middle-aged men she had seduced in the past. Authorities said she tied up her husband of less than a month, killed him and dismembered the body, churning his parts through a garbage disposal that neighbors said ran nonstop in the hours after the murder.
Authorities found some of Nelson's body parts stuffed in garbage bags and mixed with leftover Thanksgiving turkey. His hands had been fried in oil and his head boiled and stuffed in freezer, said Randy Pawloski, a senior deputy district attorney in Orange County who prosecuted the case and will argue against her release.
"She's tremendously dangerous," said Pawloski, adding that Nelson sought help from two different boyfriends to try to remove her husband's teeth and dispose of his remains to cover her tracks.
During the highly publicized trial, Nelson took the stand and said she stabbed her husband â a former pilot and convicted drug smuggler â with scissors while he sexually assaulted her. A psychiatrist testified that she confessed to cooking her husband's ribs barbecue-style and tasting them but later denied engaging in cannibalism. He said he believed she was psychotic when she killed Nelson.
Defense attorney Thomas Mooney argued his client was circumcised as a child growing up in a squalid section of Cairo, which made sex extremely painful, and was repeatedly raped and abused by her husband in the weeks after the couple wed.
Jurors found Nelson not guilty of first-degree murder, citing insufficient evidence of premeditation, but convicted her of second-degree murder. They also found Nelson guilty of assaulting a former boyfriend with a gun.
There's a lot of overcrowding in this prison, so she could get parole because of this factor too. That's scary! Never eat dinner alone with this lady. WOW!!
 Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S, a faster version of its best-selling smartphone that includes a virtual "personal assistant" you can talk to. And, for the first time, the iPhone will be available on the Sprint wireless network, as well as AT&T and Verizon.
The phone costs from $200 for a model with 16 GB of storage space to $400 for the 64 GB model. Both of those prices are subsidized by the cost of a 2-year wireless contract. The next-generation iPhone goes on sale on October 14. Click for more!

Make an album. That's the plan for Kat Von D since her final break up with Jesse James. Kat gave the reason in a recent tweet saying what her new book wouldn't have in it. Jesse 'Cheating' (OMG- that's unbelievable huh ) !  Kat's take on the music industry:"I've been playing classical piano since I was six. So I understand the form, but it will be fun to be able to translate a message." As for her sound, Kat says it will be "more on the dark, more tragically romantic" side. "I think it's much like tattooing or the TV show or makeup, my clothing line, fashion. I took a little ice cream break today when Cool Haus dropped by in the parking lot! Ice Cream cookie sandwiches you create your own.   I popped mine in the freezer for later. A Chocolate Cookie and Dirty Mint Chip Ice Cream sandwich. Of course I took a bite or 2 before it was freezer bound. OMG! YUMMY! Check it out on S. Lamar!  Also ask about their traveling truck I ran into today. The extra cool thing is the paper they serve your Ice Cream goodie in is made out of paper, edible and environmentally friendly. No paper/wrappers to toss out. You can eat it! Brilliantly Yummy!
Well, nothing from the Cowboy camp right now. The 'BIG GAME' won't be in their future, if they can't finish a game. But, the word is Madonna will be the halftime entertainment...Â

Gene Simmons (KISS) and his girlfriend of 28 YEARS, Shannon Tweed, have tied the knot. That's the word before their 7th season of 'Family Jewels' kicks off. They tied it this past weekend. You can watch/DVR the happy couple tie the knot on 'Family Jewels,' Oct. 18.
Would you wait 28 years to get married? I'm even more amazed they are on Season 7 of this show!Wonder if he'll whip this trick out during the Honeymoon.
Ted & I hit the road over the weekend to Fredericksburg. My mission was to get some 'Sweet Potato Butter' and a 'Sweet Pretzel'. We got those and even discovered another YUMMY! We had the pleasure of meeting Martin & Angela Santamaria, the owners of Santa Maria Cellars in Fredericksburg. I bought a bottle of Muscat Canelli. It is very sweet and smooth. A fantastic after taste with no harsh burn going down. If you like Asti Spumante, you will love Santa Maria's Muscat Canelli. I also tasted the Cabernet Sauvignon. I'm not into Cab wine to much, because many times it's either too dry/ and or has that harsh,what I call the 'Wine Burn', when it's going down. Santa Maria's Cabernet Sauvignon blend was nothing but a full robust flavor and very smooth. I LOVE THAT TOO!
Check out what they have. The prices are good too, for a really yummy bottle of wine. Martin signed my bottle, which I thought was very cool. Perfect for a chill night, with dinner, holidays coming up. It would make great gifts! I really enjoyed it. Awesome wine right in our backyard. :)
If you are planning on cheering on your favorite team, whether you've got the 'Burnt Orange' spirit, the Cowboys fever, or you're like me sticking w/ her Bears threw thick and thin, and this season looks like thin for right now. Well, the Cool thing is Bud Light is the official Beer of the NFL, so that helps a bit with the sting of the Bears loss, or helps elevate some Good Times when they win. Here's a yummy and easy recipe that goes perfect with 'Your Game' & 'Bud Light'...
Here's the 3 main ingredients, Bud Light, your favorite sauce and a pizza crust.
The rest you can add/ subtract whatever you like.
Here's what Ted & I did..
Bud Light Pizza:
- 1/4lb of pepperoni diced
-6 slices of bacon cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 lb of hamburger
-1/4 cup of onion
-Â 14 oz of tomato sauce/pizza sauce (Classico Pizza Sauce Rocks) -bottle of Bud Light
- 1 TB garlic powder, oregano, thyme, black pepper, Italian seasoning (whatever your favorite seasonings)
- 2 cups of your favorite cheese- mozzerella- a mixture.
-1/2 cup of parmesan cheese
- unbaked pizza crust/ or already prepared crust (just shorter cook time) You can use whatever toppings are your favorite.. chicken/pineapple... sausage and mushroom..whatever you like. It's your Bud Light Pizza!! Alfredo Sauce rather than tomato.. YUM!! Preheat oven to 450 uncooked pizza crust/ directions w/ the already prepared one (375 usually works out well) Â
-Fry the bacon in a skillet and place the bacon on a paper towel. Once it's cooled break into pieces. Pour the grease out except for a little bit about 1 TBs in the skillet and add the onions, pepperoni and the hamburger (90-10) and Bud Light. (you can add any extra seasoning to the meat mixture you like. I enjoy garlic/Italian seasoning). While the mixture is browning, put the tomato/pizza sauce in a sauce pan and add 1/2 cup of Bud Light w/ the seasonings if you are just using tomato sauce.. garlic, thyme, oreganoItalian seasoning Rocks too. If you use a season pizza sauce that works too.  Let it simmer. Remove the meat mixture from the heat and the sauce once it's simmered for about 10 minutes.
- Time to make the BL Pizza: Have the crust on a pizza pan/or big cookie sheet and put the sauce on it.... the parmesan cheese.. the meat mixture/veggies if you got them.. then a bunch of cheese on top! Bake! Once the cheese is bubbly, Golden Brown, it's ready to cool a bit then EAT!!  THIS IS AWESOME! Give it a try for your next 'Football Game', 'Party/Tailgater' or even a yummy quick dinner. It Rocks!!
