Do I need to enroll if I already have insurance w/ the company I work for?  How much? Are there different levels of insurance or the same for all across that board.  When is the deadline to sign up? Penalities?...All these questions and more are answered when you  click here!

Sunday is National Coffee Day!
Yep, I  know my Honey Ted will be celebrating.  He's a HUGE coffee drinker. He's part of the 83% of Americans who drink coffee on a regular basis. That averages to three cups a day per person, or 587 million cups, making the U.S. the world’s biggest coffee guzzler.

I like a flavored  one every now and then or take some sips of Ted's when he has Caramel Mocha or Peppermint Mocha Coffee.  I wanted to share with you a few things that could help w/ your Coffee  Day Celebration Experience.  How about FREEBIES!
Click here for freebies from  Starbucks to Dunkin Donuts!

There are ways you can celebrate Green to help out Mama Earth too!
Click here for 7 tips to try. Thanks to Shannon for sending these tips to me.   For sure grab a reusable mug/cup for your coffee. Many places give discounts for using their cups/mugs. Starbucks does 10 cents off your drink, which every litle bit counts.  I suggest the ATX Mug! IT ROCKS!

Can you believe it's been 10 Seasons?!!!
Tonight the 2-hour Season 10 premiere of Grey's Anatomy starts at 8pm  on ABC. Click the text box to check out a preview video to get ready for tonight.  I figure I'll have wet eyes at some point watching tonight. For some reason just about every show makes my eyes water at some.  Not many shows do that to me.  It's amazing how time flies, especially if you watch the first 49 seconds of Episode 1 Season 1.  Do you remember this?

Happy Fall is coming

This Sunday (9/22) around 3:44pm is when Fall starts up! Looking forward to a bit cooler weather,
so I can whip out cute boots. Love boot and light sweater weather. Fall Food Rocks too. I've been
hearing more people cooking w/ the crock pot, so I thought I would share a recipe I ran across from
(Hungry Girl) . I will have to put my crock pot to the test. Maybe this weekend to celebrate Fall!

Ooey-Gooey Crock-Pot Apple Goodness
1/8th of recipe (about 1/2 cup): 137 calories, 1.5g fat,
42mg sodium, 31g carbs, 3.5g fiber, 17g sugars, 1.5g protein
-- PointsPlus® value 4*

Dig into a big bowl of warm apple deliciousness without turning on the
stove or oven. The YUMS just keep on coming…

Ingredients:
8 cups sliced Fuji apples
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 cup brown sugar (not packed)
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup all-natural light whipped topping (like Truwhip Light)

Directions:
Place apples in a crock pot sprayed with nonstick spray. Add lemon juice and toss to coat.
Add brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Toss to coat.

Evenly top apples with oats.

Cover and cook on low for about 4 hours, until apples have softened.

Allow to cool slightly, about 15 minutes.

Top each serving with 1 tbsp. whipped topping, and enjoy!

MAKES 8 SERVINGS

HG FYI: Fujis ROCK, but this recipe can also be made with any type of sweet apples,
like Honeycrisp, Pink Lady, or Gala.

Since today is National Talk LIke A Pirate Day, here's a Rum Drink to give a try!
AAARRRRR!!!!!!

It's MIley's Fault....
A Univeristy in MIchigan had to remove their big Pendalum, because some male students couldn't stop pulling a 'Miley' on it!   BTW her song 'Wrecking Ball' is #1 on the Billboard charts.

Beautiful & Frightening...
A filmmaker/Editor Anthony put this video together from family reunion photos. He did an amazing job. It's beautiful, yet frightening to see aging happen right before your eyes.

Have Fun & Make Cash too...
I dropped by the Home Consignment Center/ Arbor Walk to do some FUN shopping. What's new?  Tracy, she's new on the HCC team, and can help you with your shopping fun.   They have lots of great furniture pieces, both quality consignment and new pieces.  Lots of one of a kind items you won't find anyhere else.  Rugs, art, and more.  There is also  jewelry w/ Herb who can show you some FANTABULOUS new pieces from designers, lots of bling... Check out what I discovered...

The Home Consignment Center is always taking quality consignment pieces.  Janet from the Home Consignment Center/Shops Parkway Bee Cave wanted me to spread the word that they are in need of more consignment pieces. You have a bedroom, living room, dining room... pieces you want to take away from your home to get something new... Janet can help you w/ that. You can make money and save money at the same time! Click here to find out more about the Fun shopping you can have and the cash you can make w/ the Home Consignment Center.

Something to check out for the weekend...
I wanted to share a couple of sites I ran across.
This site gives 411 on Downtown ATX.. road closures, eating, shopping.. Pretty cool!
Click it to see street closures for the UT game and the Purple Strides 5K.

http://www.downtownaustin.com/experience/street-closures

I ran across this one from ATX Man magazine:
http://ticketbud.com/

ATX-based is a place you can create an event webpage, sell tickets and promote your event. Ticket Bud has online and mobile accress.  Suppose to be a quick and easy way for folks to buy tickets to your next big event/party.  Something worth checking out if you are into this kind of thing. :)

Here's a flash back tune that popped in my head this morning.
Crank up some SNAP!

Try this today...
It's National Day Of Encouragement today.  I encourage you to do something nice for someone.  Big You Rocks to the guy in the Uhaul today that let me in w/ busy traffic.   I returned that nice gesture to a few others on my trip to work this morning.  Be nice and encourage those around you today in a postive way.   Just remember 'YOU CAN DO IT!'

Take a few moments...
Do you remember where you were today 12 years ago?...

I was living in St. Petersburg, FL.  When the first plane hit, I was  finishing up curling my hair, getting ready to head out to work- MIddays at a Classic Rock station/ 102.5. I remember Ted turning on the tv and a few minutes later yelling out to me, 'Hon a plane hit the Twin Towers.'  I ran out of the bathroom to see what he was talking about, and shortly after we both saw the 2nd plane hit.  It was something out of a  movie. This couldn't be real, but it was.  I headed into work, and experienced so many emotions...  Everyone's experience 12 years ago was different, but the one thing I remember the most is how we pulled together as a nation dealing w/ thousands of lives that were lost.  Neighbors were helping neighbors... strangers helping strangers... Flags being flown to let the world know 'We Stand United'!

Here is a poem that I have kept a copy w/ me all these years, and I share it each year on this day.  This poem was written by a 4th grader, Christine Morrison from Salem, Ohio, as she watched the tragedy unfold on tv with the Twin Towers collapsing into heaps of dust.

THE DUST OF SEPTEMBER:

The dust, the smoke, the clouds
from the dust of September

The sadness, the sorrow, the darkness
from the dust of September

The pretty sites are gone, the love, the death
from the dust of September

The families, the lives taken away
by the dust of September

Our country is sad, but our country still stands
in the dust of September

Our flag still waves
through the dust of September

We will never break, we will stand together
through the dust of September

People hurt, hearts broken, but we survive
in the dust of September.

Dear Abby's message to her readers on the 1 Year Anniversary of September 11th, when she shared this poem fits today.

"If Sept. 11 taught us anything, it is how strong the people of this great country can be when they are called upon. To the families and friends who lost loved ones a year ago today (12 years about today 9/11/13), you are in the hearts of all Americans. Our prayers are with you.

Give your loved ones, family and friends extra hugs today.  Be nice to each other, which is something we should all try to do each day.

I'd Love this perk during a flight, would you?
What if Gavin DeGraw busted out in a song while you were on a flight.  I certainly would be way less tense if that were to happen.  Check out the cool promotion that Southwest Airlines is doing.. 'Liveat 35'...  Different artists break out tunes on the plane.

What do you think about this news?
I think it's sad.  True Blood/HBO is calling it quits after next Season 7 in 2014.

HBO's president of programming Michael Lombardo revealed this: "Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show." - See more at:
http://perezhilton.com/2013-09-03-true-blood-to-end-in-2014/?from=readmore_perezhilton&more=yes#more-394280

Does this make you sad, or is it about time we say goodbye to Eric, Bill & the crew?

Here's a video I found that takes us back to some past  True Blood highlights, that hooked so many of us.
