*Got a call from Brenna reminding me that yesterday was the Kick off
for Girl Scout Cookie Sales. It would be her daughter Lena's 1st year doing it,
and even though she is a bit shy, they were going to hit the pavement in South
Austin going door to door sharing the 'SUGAR RUSH HAPPY'... Funny how
we tell our kids don't talk to strangers, but IT'S ON when it comes to 'THE COOKIES'..
Since I was a 4-H Girl... "I Pledge my Head to clearer thinking,
my Heart to greater loyalty,
my Hands to larger service,
and my Health to better living,
for my club, my community, my country, and my world."
...No Livestock/animals or farming kind of things(even though I'm from Nebraska) .. Sewing, cooking, Speech, Singing...woodworking (although my Daddy got a
lot more ribbons for his handywork...SSHH DON'T TELL) Never sold stuff for
competition... Although a friend & I made stuff like FriendShip Bracelets & those
Friendship Safety pins w/ beads you'd put on tennis shoes...sold them door to door
around the neighborhood on Saturday afternoons when we wanted $ for Candy!!!
...As my mouth waters for it's 1st Thin Mints...
Thought I'd get ya ready for the 'BIG 2010 GS Cookie Season'...
