Oreo cookies are 101 years old this year. In honor of the new flavor Watermelon, in Target stores now and hitting others soon, and their 101st, here are 13 Tibits about Oreos that may surprise you besides have a Watermelon Flavored cookie. Supposedly this flavor taste GREAT w/ the Golden Oreo. I'll have to give it the taste test soon! 1. The Oreo is wildly popular; so popular, in fact, that it's the world's best-selling cookie. These days, it can be found in more than 100 countries.
2. The original Oreo's cookie-to-cream ratio is 71 percent cookie, 29 percent, according to TIME. Now Oreos also come in Double Stuf and Mega Stuf varieties.
3. Oreos were sold by weight when they first came out! In fact, they cost 30 cents per pound.
4. Sure, the debut-version of Oreos came in the flavor we know and love today. But there was also a lemon meringue flavor.
5. In other countries, Oreos come in a variety of flavors unfamiliar to American cookie lovers. In China, for example, you can get green tea ice cream Oreos. In Argentina, you can get dulche de leche and banana Oreos.

Carol was fantastic and talked me through the whole process. Who would have thought she numbed your skin beforehand!? I of course knew this from our first meeting, but what a relief! After I sat with the numbing cream for about 30 minutes the actual laser part took no more than five minutes! So easy! Another great thing is the same time the laser is going there is also very cold air being blown on the tattoo. All you feel are little pricks. I wish all the Dad's a Happy weekend. I'm sending lots of LOVE to my Daddy Maurice. There are lots of things that my Daddy taught me... It's always good to get to an appointment a bit earlier, always shake w/ a firm handshake, songs that would drive my mom nuts.. lots of fun things like that. For 2 weeks in July every summer Daddy, mom and I (plus doggies Fi Fi & Mitzi) would pile in the car and road trip it to see family in Virgina. My Daddy wasn't one to hang at a rest stop very long. ROT Biker Rally is in town all this weekend. A LOT of Bikes will be on the roads in and around ATX! Please be careful driving around this weekend. Look an extra time at a stop sign/light.. roller w/ a bit more caution.
The ROT Rally parade is tomorrow night/Friday (6/14) 7pm going from the Expo Center to the Capitol downtown. They are going for a World Record..
Gear up for the 19th Annual ROT Motorcycle Parade and Downtown Party held on Friday, June 14th, 2013! In 2006, the Guinness Book of World Records certified the ROT Parade as the "Longest Parade of Motorcycles Known to Mankind." The 11-mile Parade is escorted by Austin Police Department and stages at 7:00 PM and leaves promptly at 7:30 PM from the Rally grounds.
The Parade ends at the capitol building on Congress Avenue where thousands of spectators await your arrival for the ROT Congress Party. Thanks to the APD, the entire trip only takes 30 minutes. They efficiently close off side streets and control intersections, ensuring a safe and speedy trip to the downtown biker party. The 2013 ROT Parade is going to be bigger and better then ever - so saddle up and come ride in the Worlds Longest Biker Parade! (more 411)

I ran acrossthis list of Best Summer Songs, but I didn't see mine on the list. One of my favorite 'Summer Songs', Garth Brooks 'Friends In Low Places'. I'm not a HUGE country fan, but it was the song that was playing at the 'Paradise Club'/Omaha, NE during a certain summer in the 90s that I slow danced, for the first time, w/ Ted (So Romantic... LOL) . Ted became my hubby on June 30, 2001, so we're celebrating our 12th anniversary soon (or 21 years together, if the 9 years dating before counts). But Today, June 12th, is an Extra Special Day too, It's 'TED'S DAY'! He celebrates his HAPPY ?? today! I'm so HAPPY I get to share and celebrate another 'TED DAY'! Huey's ditto on that!
June is Men's Health Awareness Month. On Friday (6/14), Entercom ATX is going to wear BLUEto celebrate our men and their health. If your man is anything like my man Ted, then he isn't a fan of going to the doctor, or checkups of any kind. But we need to be strong and make them understand their good health is what we want. More frequent checkups really does help a man's health. If there is a problem and it is discovered on the early side, it makes the treatment and getting back to health much easier and more successful. Here's a video that you can share. THE SEASON HAS STARTED.. SNAKE SEASON! I ran into this story and I wanted to share. With things heating up, there is a bigger chance you will run into a snake. Just something to think about for a bit to make sure you are extra careful when you are out enjoying the summer heat in Central Texas, especially if you are walking your dogs/pets.
There are four main types of venomous snakes in north America including copper heads, cotton mouths, coral snakes and rattlesnakes. Texas has all four.According to experts in Texas, on average, two people die every day from rattlesnake bites. It's far more likely that any snake you encounter in Texas will not be one of the venomous species, however.
....If you are bitten by a snake experts also say you should try to identify the type of snake that bit you and get to the emergency room. Do not try to treat it yourself. Experts say that with prompt medical attention the chances of surviving the incident are better than you might expect" (KXAN)

You never know who may pop up in town. Keep an eye out for lots of celebs this weekend w/ the ATX TV Festival going on, Mumford & Son's doing a Sat & Sun Show @ The ATX 360 Amphitheater, and the word is Mark Walhberg has been around the ATX area, seen yesterday in Pflugerville filming the movie Transformers 4... I got an email from Hungry-Girl.com. If you haven't checked the site out, it's pretty cool. It gives you info about snacks and foods you shop for that taste good, but low in fat and calories. There are also a bunch of recipes that are similar to ones that have lots of fat, sugar and calories in them that taste good. They are revised w/ healthier options and they still taste good, or that is what is suppose to happen.
Today I was sent the 2 ingredient brownie recipe that is suppose to taste like a yummy brownie w/ out the butter/oil, egss and all the things that make brownies really yummy! Or course this is a brownie w/ no frosting, which there are recipes for that too, but this one would be considered a naked brownie...
