Happy October 1st... Scary time w/ Halloween ending the month. Looks like unusual and scary things are already happening. I never though I'd run into Slipknot doing this. If Heavy Metal gets old for them, or they just can't do it anymore, they could have a future in HOT AC. What do you think?
Slipknot expands even further into Pop Culture.. British side... Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor will be joining the cult-hit TV series Doctor Whoin a unique way, providing the monstrous scream of a new alien warlord called Fisher King, according to the BBC. (Rolling Stone)
Is this an appropriate question to ask just anyone... Why don't you have kids? Got plans too? Going to have any more?
My honey Ted & I get this question a lot. We have a furbaby Huey (13 year old Shih Tzu) who is plenty kid for us. :)
A woman named Emily was tired of getting this question all the time. Her response via Facebook post has been trending for some time... Here's some of her answer...
"Hey everyone!!! Now that I got your attention with this RANDOM ULTRASOUND PHOTO I grabbed from a Google image search, this is just a friendly P.S.A. that people's reproductive and procreative plans and decisions are none of your business. NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.
Before you ask the young married couple that has been together for seemingly forever when they are finally gonna start a family … before you ask the parents of an only-child toddler when a Little Brother or Little Sister will be in the works … before you ask a single 30-something if/when s/he plans on having children because, you know, clock's ticking … just stop. Please stop.
You don't know who is struggling with infertility or grieving a miscarriage or dealing with health issues. You don't know who is having relationship problems or is under a lot of stress or the timing just isn't right. You don't know who is on the fence about having kids or having more kids. You don't know who has decided it's not for them right now, or not for them ever. You don't know how your seemingly innocent question might cause someone grief, pain, stress or frustration.
Sure, for some people those questions may not cause any fraught feelings — but I can tell you, from my own experiences and hearing about many friends' experiences — it more than likely does."
Here are some comments from Mix Facebook Friends:
Jeanette Reynolds FinneyPeople should not ask. I have one and people ask me why did you only have one ? This is a very personal question and most people don't realize how sensitive it can be. Some people actually choose not to have children and that's great there are plenty that have them that should not.
Alexis MarshallHaving gone thru my 6th miscarriage last year, I hate these questions. I usually get the opposite though... I have a 13 year old, and people are like, oh you're so lucky you only have one. Or gee, you must be glad you had kids when you were younger. Since he was 5, I've been wishing for more. Thanks. unsure emoticon
Ginelda Lopez-MtzWhen the topic of children comes up in conversation and the person I'm speaking to says they don't have any I just take it for what it's worth and leave them alone about it. I don't like to pry into the "why not?" because you can never know if they've had health issues or if it's a sensitive subject that could make them feel bad. I have one son and he's not a baby anymore. The question as to when are we going to try for another didn't bother me, but now that he's older and my 30th birthday is creeping up on me I can honestly say the question on whether or not I'm going to have more children makes me sad because I just don't know if I will or not. I just tell everyone "It just hasn't happened yet" and they usually leave me alone after that.
Sarah KathrynI think it's okay to ask "Do you have any kids?" And if the person says no and is reserved and quiet about it then I would leave it at that. Asking if they have plans to is intrusive. That is none of your business. And I can see how that would hurt feelings if asked that.
I"m a big breakfast food fan. If you are too, this could be cool. Plus some '80s & '90s flair is added to the mix.. NICE!
"The Cereal Killer Café Cookbook will feature recipes that center around the breakfast staple... learn how to make dishes like corn flake chicken, sausage-stuffed Shredded Wheat, and Cocoa Pop brownies. The book will also be rife with "1980s and early 90s pop culture references" and comic-strip illustrations. The Cereal Killer Café Cookbook will be released October 22."
Married 73 years, Howard (92) sings to his wife Laura (93) at the Hospice spending those last moments of life together. I'm getting teary eyed just typing this. I needed a tissue about :10 into the video. Not sure if you'll last longer before a tissue, but have one handy just in case. If you want to see what TRUE LOVE is all about, this is a perfect example. It does exist during a lifetime and even in a few precious moments. Enjoy the time you have w/ your honey. I hope my honey Ted and I are lucky enough to experience this amount of time together and still be that much In Love w/ each other even too the end. So far so GREAT...
Lady Gaga classed up the Emmy's on Sunday. You'll see how she carries that to the newest American Horror Story: Hotel! It kicks off on Wednesday, October 7th on FX! I'm so looking forward to it! Here's a newer promo to get you ready! There's a love triangle Ms. G will be tangled up in....
This is something we should strive to have everyday! PEACE! The International Day Of Peace was declared by resolution 36/37 of the United Nations General Assembly in 1981. The first observation of the day was in 1982. For more information, please visit http://www.un.org/en/events/peaceday/

Turn the unhappy headline into a Happier one! Enjoy the last weekend of Summer in ATX w/ Mama Earth w/ family & friends!
It was around 9 years ago, I had my first Mammogram in ATX. Dr. Jukes thought it would be a good idea regardless of the 40 and over age requirement to have a Mammogram to base my future ones to a hopefully healthy one at the time. I was adopted when I was 3 weeks old, and have no knowledge of biological family history when it comes to cancer and other diseases. I was blessed having a healthy first one, and the ones I have had since can be compared to it if there was an issue that pops up.
Just a few days ago, I went in for another Mammogram. I wasn't able to do video of photos of myself getting it done, but I did get a shot so you can see what's behind the door. It seems a bit intimidating if it's your very first one, but it can be that way even if you've had a few. Lisa & the folks at ARA Diagnostic Imaging/ Westlake location are fantastic at letting you know what is going on, and what you will need to do. They eliminate the stress of having it done. I won't say it's BIG TIME FUN, but they make it as comfortable as it can be, and make sure you aren't feeling any unnecessary stress. It's a series of 4 photos that are taken of the breast tissue.
The Westlake location doesn't have the 3-D testing machines yet, but they are in line to get one in the future. ARADI do have 2-3 locations w/ that machine. 2 Awesome options to keep up on your health. Early detection is always the best. Don't put it off if you're 40 and over. Most insurances cover the Mamm test. If not, there are places to turn to for assistance to make sure you're keeping up w/ good health. If you are under 40, but have a history of breast cancer in your family, or don't know your family history lke me, it's good to have an early Mammogram. Now I'm waiting for the results.
