I went a little crazy at the last Kendra Scott Sample sale. Her jewelry is usually pretty expensive and sold at high end stores like Nordstrom. I went to Cipollina on West Lynn Saturday night and it is a great place for a romantic cheap date night....or girls night out!
Cipollina is a Bistro on West Lynn near Downtown Austin. The prices are cheap and the food is good. You can get a pizza big enough for 2 for about $12, and a great glass of wine for just $5.
The atmosphere is cozy and cute...perfect for a first date...and it is local! After dinner walk over to Cafe Medici for a great espresso.
AUSTIN (KXAN) - The NBC television series "Friday Night Lights" needs more football players, cheerleaders, teachers, townspeople... even prisoners.
Casting agents are looking for extras for the show's fourth season of filming in the Austin area. No experience is necessary. Filming will take place from September 2, 2009 through December 23, 2009. All extras will be paid for their work.
All applicants must be United States citizens and have valid photo ID and social security cards.
Here are some some specific types included in the casting call:
Football Players: ages 18-24, male, athletic types preferably with some football experience
Cheerleaders: ages 18-24, must have previous cheerleading experience
Football Sideline Trainers and Managers: ages 18-24, male and female
Pop Warner Football Players: ages 5-12, Pop Warner experience
Football Coaches: ages 35-65, male, athletic types
Wicked is a hot and expensive ticket this month at the Bass Concert Hall! Do the Wicked lottery and you can see the show for just $25!
Show up to the venue 2 1/2 hours before the show and put your name in the pile. 2 hours before the show they will draw a limited number or orchestra seats!
The limit is 2 per person and you must pay $25 cash for each ticket.
You might also have to pay to park on campus. It usually costs about $7.
The latest designer bag collection at Target is from Hollywood Intuition. The bags resemble some Chloe, Marc Jacobs, and Michael Kors bags that I have seen around.
There are a lot of fun colors this season, but I find it hard to spend $300 on a purple bag that might only be in for 1 season. The Hollywood Intuition line is a great way to add green, purple, or bright orange into your collection for under $30!
My favorite bag is the cluth...that can also be worn as a fanny pack. Target makes EXCELLENT clutches for around $19.99. I swear someone will look at your bag and think you spent much more.
Another bag I like is the tote. Get it in purple! You can carry it to work and fit your laptop in it as well! The tote is HUGE and only $29.99.
Finally, Intuition is known for their Hollywood tape. They have cheaper box for Target for just $9.99. This is a great thing to have in the closet for a last minute hem, or to keep a bra strap up!
South Austin restaurant Olivia has been named one of the best new restaurants of the year by Bon Appetit.

Betty has a promotion this year at the Magazine and needs a more hip look. They have made Betty normal looking! Kind of goes against the purpose of the whole show don't you think?

About 500 dogs from a puppy mill have been sent to Austin. Paws of Austin have taken in a bunch of the animals and are asking for foster parents and donations to cover medical and food costs.
AUSTIN (KXAN) - Cedar Park Center job fair on Saturday
Cedar Park Center will hold its first job fair at Austin Community College, Cypress Creek Campus on July 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cedar Park Center staff will be on hand to provide information about part-time positions at the new facility. Interested applicants can fill out an application before the job fair .

The following two weekends, Sprouts Farmers Market will be holding job fairs in Sunset Valley and Round Rock.
They run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 24 and 31. Then, the fair will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the subsequent Saturdays.
