Please consider donating your clothes to either the Austin Young Lawyer's Association's Women's Resource Fair or Lisa's Hope Chest.
This will be ALYLA's fourth Women's Resource Fair Tfor homeless and low-income women.
Last year, 494 women and
145 children came to the fair and were able to access medical care, social services, resume writing workshops, and clothing in addition to legal services provided by lawyer volunteers. Clothing donations are needed for this year's clothing closet. Women's business casual attire (especially larger sizes) and children's clothes are needed most.
Lisa's Hope Chest (http://www.lisashopechest.org/) is a local Austin charity that gives clothing to men and women in need. This is an EXTRAORDINARY place run by the most amazing and giving individuals who give so much hope and dignity to others. They will take almost anything you might have to help those in our community.
Another great place to donate is St. Michael's Catholic Academy Thrift Shoppe. I volunteer there and all the proceeds go to Catholic Education and scholorships for tuition. Everyone who works there is a volunteer. We also have a program that donates some work clothes to the women's shelter for women getting back into the work force.
Give it some thought. The shoppe is located at the intersection of 2222 and Burnet Rd. Or, I can stop by and pick up the clothes from you.
