World Changed for 'EVERYONE'...

9 YEARS AGO... September 11, 2001...

... I was getting ready to head to the radio station
in Tampa, Florida. When my Hubby Ted yelled to
me from the living room that a plane hit one of the
Towers. Of course I thought, this couldn't be real.
I came out,  and shortly after that saw another plane hit
the other Tower.  I couldn't believe what I was watching.
My eyes filled w/ Tears and I felt like someone kicked me
in the gut. Throughout the day, I was broadcasting the horrific details
and just couldn't believe this happened to US.. in the U.S..
It was hard not to break down, seeing the endless people on the
streets of New York, trying to find their Loved Ones. The search
went on for a Long time, with many of the accounts getting sadder
and sadder. But one positive thing came out of this, during the time
following the Horrific events, the majority of us pulled together & worked
together to help lift each other up.  I had never seen so many
Flags flying high all in a row in neighborhoods.   People were working
together to help others.  It's Sad that a trajedy has to bring this out
in people.  Wish we could be more helpful to each other everyday and
show our pride in the U.S.A... JUST BE NICE TO EACH OTHER...
Send thoughts to Family & Friends of those who lost their lives
just doing everyday things we all do each & every day...
BIG YOU ROCKS TO THE HEROES THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR
MANY TO BE W/ THEIR FAMILY & FRIENDS THESE PAST 9 YEARS!!!
MORE BIG YOU ROCKS TO THE SOLDIERS WHO ARE STILL FIGHTING
FOR OUR RIGHTS & PROTECTING US FROM HARM & TO THOSE
WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE LINE OF DUTY!!

Here's a poem I found shortly after....It was written by a
4th Grader... I have kept a copy for the past 9 years , because I feel it
tells it all...

* Written on September 11, 2001 thru the eyes of a Fourth Grader, Christine Morrison…sent to Dear Abby by her Grandparents Larue & Herb Morrison, Salem Ohio…

THE DUST OF SEPTEMBER
The dust of September

The dust, the smoke, the clouds
from the dust of September.

The sadness, the sorrow, the darkness
from the dust of September.

The pretty sites are gone, the love the death
from the dust of September

The families, the lives taken away
by the dust of September.

Our country is sad, but our country still stands
in the dust of September.

Our flag still waves
through the dust of September

We will never break, we will stand together
through the dust of September.

People hurt, hearts broken, but we survive
in the dust of September…

I was at work at Austin State School, and supervisor came down the hall to tell me what he was seeing on the TV in his office. All that day I watched off and on as I was trying to contact members to participate in upcoming Human Rights Committee meetings. I kept getting voice mail for one woman I knew was at work until late in the afternoon when she finally answered and told me that her brother-in-law was the pilot of the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania, and she and her husband were trying to find at way to get up to that part of the country. Sept 11 was all so far away and yet so very close for me!
