Are you ready for November 18th? My honey Ted rolled his eyes the other night when we were watching something about 'Breaking Dawn Part 1'. All of a sudden, I went into the 'OH NO YOU DIDN'T TUDE', which isn't normally like me. I said, okay you can roll your eyes, You're not going with me to see the movie, because you will just bust on it ,and I don't want the experience to be ruined. I'm EXCITED about it. He said he was just kidding, he wanted to go with. He's read the books, and he wants to see the last part of the movies with me. He's seen all the other ones with me.  For now, he's going to be my date... but there's still 14 days... LOL...
Advice to guys taking your ladies for a date night... just refrain from any eye rolls or negative comments until she says something first. Especially, if she's a BIG TWILIGHT FAN! It's not fair, but it's safe to say if you do that, you will probably have a much more peaceful night. Maybe make a deal that during Sunday football, she has to return the favor. NO ROLLING THE EYES OR NEGATIVE COMMENTS!  Compromise is good for a relationship. :)

I was giddy to hear that my #1 on my 'Fantasy Laminated List' would be in ATX during the Austin Film Festival. Johnny Depp is getting honored for all his talented hard work, his hotness is just a bonus.
Actor Johnny Depp will be in Austin for the Austin Film Festival! He will be our first-ever recipient of the Festivalâs inaugural Extraordinary Contribution to Film â Acting Award. Depp will also present Distinguished Screenwriter Awardee Caroline Thompson with her Award and be on hand for screenings of his new film The Rum Diary (based on the novel by Hunter S. Thompson) and a retrospective of Edward Scissorhands with Thompson.
AFF is honoring Depp for his collective body of work, his contribution to the culture of film and, above all, for his recognition and support of the importance of writing and the value of the writer, made apparent by many of his film choices and working relationships with writers like Austin Film Festival alums Terry Rossio & Ted Elliot, John August, Peter Hedges, and, of course, Caroline Thompson.
He will be presented with the Award at the Awards Luncheon on Saturday, 10/22, at the Austin Club at 12:15pm. Depp will also be presenting Distinguished Screenwriter Awardee Caroline Thompson with her award. Included in her numerous credits are two films featuring Depp: Edward Scissorhands and Corpse Bride. This yearâs other award recipients are Extraordinary Contribution to Filmmaking Awardee John Lasseter (Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios) and Outstanding Television Writer Awardee Hart Hanson (creator/writer/executive producer of âBones,â âThe Finderâ). The Awards Luncheon is presented by Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation.
Depp will introduce his new film The Rum Diary at the Paramount Theatre on Oct. 21st at 7pm (which opens in theaters nationwide October 28th)and he will do a Q&A following the film. Joining him for the Q&A will be The Rum Diary writer/director Bruce Robinson. Robinson was nominated for an Academy Award as well as a Golden Globe for his screenplay, The Killing Fields. His other screenplay credits include, How to Get Ahead In Advertising, In Dreams, and Fat Man and Little Boy.
... With fellow award-recipient and screenwriter Caroline Thompson, Depp will also introduce a special retrospective screening of Edward Scissorhands at 9:45pm at the Paramount Theatre. Thompson will do a Q&A following the film.

Craig Brewer's 'Footloose/2011'? At today!! Last month I attended a press preview at the Alamo Drafthouse/S. Lamar. If you go see it, the Alamo is definitely the place. Here's my review

The everyday objects â an engraved cigarette case, a martini shaker â become a sort of portal between the 1930s and 1998, the year of the real-life auction. They are doing away w/ separating the DVD and streaming videos with 2 separate fees and sites.
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said that Netflix would pull the plug on Qwikster, citing the confusion that would arise from having a separate, DVD-only offering. Qwikster and Netflix would have operated on two separate websites without integration between the two, requiring users to pay two different companies each month, maintain two separate profiles, and post any movie reviews twice.
"It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs," Hastings wrote. "This means no change: one website, one account, one password⦠in other words, no Qwikster." Click for more

Ted & I have had a Halloween tradition for the past, I guess it would be 7 years now, and could be 8. THE SAW MOVIES. We've gone to see it every year on Halloween. Last year Saw 7/3D was suppose to be the last. Well, I ran across this, and it could be fake, but it doesn't look that way.  If it's true, even though Saw 7 was getting pretty ridiculous, I have to give props to the 'BIG IMAGINATION' of the writers. It is a tradition for Ted and I, so what the heck. If it does come out, I'd go!  What do you think?
The Girl w/ the Dragon Tattoo in theaters Dec 21st. I thought the book Rocked, but it has been a while since I read it. I may have to do a re-read before the movie comes out. Or maybe not, so I don't compare the 2 too much.Â
You can catch them in the new movie 'Abduction' out this Friday 9/23. Taylor starring in the movie and Train's songs 'To Be Loved' is part of the 'Abduction' Soundtrack out tomorrow Sept 20th! Taylor is a big Train fan, so he's excited that they have a song in the movie. The movie looks really good.
The 'Dance Your Ass Off' club? I did last night at the Alamo Drafthouse. I caught a screening of the Footloose remake. The creation of director ,Craig Brewer, who has cool flicks like Hustle & Flow & Black Snake Moan under his belt. He turned down doing this twice, before the President of Paramount called him while he was on his way to a bachelor party in New Orleans to do it.  Craig is a student of Footloose-ology. He loved the movie growing up and wanted to make sure the remake did it justice. I would say over all .. IT DID!
Footloose/2011 was a huge stepping stone into stardom for Kevin Bacon in '84. I believe it will be the same for Kenny Wormald who stepped in the Big Shoes of 'Ren'. Aerial his love interest is done by Julianne Hough, yep Dancing w/ the Stars Dancer/Country singer/ Ryan Seacrest's girlfriend. They have good chemistry throughout the movie. Although in my opinion, Kenny was the star and you wouldn't have known this was his 1st really big flick. I also enjoyed the character Willard, played by Miles Teller (he has done this role in the stage production). Willard was loveable and funny at the same time, but different from the original, but just as good, if not better to me. The movie had good flow. It does have several differences than the original, but I think Craig did a great job of making them believeable. Especially the main part of the movie, that a town would ban dancing. You believe it when you see the opening, which is way darker than the original. I loved the bus scene, and the dancing was pretty Awesome too, and done in all the right places.
I enjoyed the movie, and it would be a Great date night movie. If you have never seen the original, then you will Love it. If you have seen the original, but in to it like me not knowing what to expect, you will be pleasantly surprised. It's a good remake. But of course there will be those who will stick to the 'Bacon Original' and won't be swayed. I would say if you are that type, then don't go. You won't enjoy it and make it tough for whoever you go with to enjoy it. It's especially fun at the Alamo Drafthouse. Good date night movie, with a group of girlfriends/friends out to just have a good time.
Look for Craig's 'Footloose' to come out October 14th. BTW, Craig did a nice job with the soundtrack too! You'll catch some favs and then newbies that fit well with the movie.

The run time for the final film in the Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 Â franchise has been posted on an Australian IMAX website, and it will be the shortest film out of all eight. It will run for 125 minutes (2 hours and 5 minutes).

Update Tuesday 6/28:- My 2 cents Transformers 3 :Dark of the Moon review:  I was so excited yesterday to see my 1st IMAX movie at the Bob Bulluck Museum. I was not disappointed when it came to the B.B Imax. It Rocked! The ultimate 3-D experience for sure. I was also excited that my Honey Ted and I were having a date night to the movie. He's a BIG Transformers fan, way back from the '80s. He was excited to see how they did with T3 and the 3-D effects! As far as the 3-D it was very COOL! The movie as a whole. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! The script was poor, directing poor.. it seemed more like scene by scene rather than a movie with flow. The acting was mediocre to VERY POOR. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who took over for Megan Fox as Sam's love interest Carly, she was Beautiful! We all know a Victoria Secret Model. Director Michael Day wanted us all to know 'She's a Pretty Girl'. We definitely got that message. (If this was the movie, it would be expected that she appear, so I have to put her picture in) Â
Just a small picture, a tease of the many more larger than life sized scenes you will catch her in. Her introduction in the movie should make her personal trainer a busy person in Hollywood! Ted was upset that they were showing her more in a scene with Patrick Dempsy (Yep Dr. McDreamy), who played her boss Dylan, rather than his uber expensive cars. He said out loud, Show the car not her.!!' That's why I LOVE HIM.. LOL!!
As far as Rosie's acting debut...did you ever see Mariah Carey's 'Glitter' or at least the trailer? I missed Megan/Mikaela's more beautiful tomboy-ish nature.  Also in this movie, the Autobots had a strong showing in the action parts, but not much as far as their characters and personalities like the earlier movies. The movie seemed about 1/2 hour to long too (run time about 2 1/2 hours).   Transformers 3 opens Friday 7/1. I know it will make a butt load of $$$ over the holiday weekend. But as an over all movie, minus the special effects/3-D, it would have been more of a B movie. The effects save the movie! There are some VERY COOL action scenes/stunts, but there was  fewer of those scenes compared to others that were  mucking the movie up!  Â
In the word's of USA Today -Â 'Tranformers 3 might as well have been written by a machine, given its tin-eared comedy and noisy soullessness.'Â
... I'm checking out a screening tonight! I'll let you know if it's worth the $10 plus bucks to see it. from the trailer it looks like it ROCKS!!

Hi Heather, The movie has lost quite a bit of its sparkle from the first movie. Although JD does his best to make the magic happen, it is definitely missing what it used to have. It seemed more violent to me than the previous two movies also. With that said, I would have paid to see it especially since Johnny is the lead. Muy delicioso!! Although if I had paid, we would not have been sitting in the second row. That is way too close especially for 3D. :)
 Pirates 4 opened in several other countries Wed and had made over 18.5 million in one day. I expect it to get just as much Love in the states. It's in theaters today! Are you ready for more Capt. Jack/Johnny????

until November 18th!! Breaking Dawn Part 1.. Can't wait!
I was craving 'Lemon Cake' over the weekend, so I made my 1st one.
It actually turned out yummy. My Honey Ted isn't a huge
fruit tasting cake fan, but he admitted it was YUMMY!!
I added to the box recipe to put a bit of flair
to it! It's Easy & Yummy to make! :)
Cake 1 Box of Lemon Cake Mix
1 Box of Lemon Pudding
3 large/jumbo eggs
1/3 cup of margarine (melted- 5 1/3 TBs) 1 cup of Fat Free Milk
1/3 cup of Italian Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer
1/4 tsp Lemon Extract (could also use real lemon juice) 1 tsp of Vanilla Extract
Frosting/Topping 1 container of (Classic) Vanilla frosting
1 cup of white chocolate chips (I had to get chocolate in there .. LOL) 1 square of Bakers White chocolate
1 TB spoon of the Italian Sweet Creamer
1 TB spoon of Fat Free milk
Sugar(1/2 cup)
Cake: In a large mixing bowl mix together cake mix, pudding mix, 3 eggs,
1/3 cup of melted margarine (5 1/3 TBs),1 cup of milk & 1/3 cup of the
Italian Sweet Cream with the 1/4 tsp of Lemon Extract in it and
1 tsp of Vanilla. MIX for about 1 minute..then beat for 2 minutes!
I used a bundt pan that has the side come off- I sprayed it w/ Butter flavored Crisco/Pam and then coated the sides with sugar (Ted suggested Lemon Zest mixed with the sugar next time).I also lined the bottom of the pan with parchament paper (cut out the circle in the middle to fit the pan).  Put in a pre-heated oven 350! Take about 35-40 minutes to bake. Golden brown on top and clean tooth pick comes out. Shake some more sugar over the top of the cake before it
cools! Â Let it cool on a rack if you have one. within 1o minutes take the
side of the bundt pan off for it to cool completely.
Frosting:
Melt the white chocolate square and 1/2 cup of the white chocolate chips
in the microwave starting with 30 seconds..then a few here and there each time
adding a splash of milk and creamer to make it smooth. Let it cool a bit
then add it to the Vanilla frosting. If the frosting seems like it's more melted, put
in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes just to set back up, not get cold.
Once cake it cooled, take out of the pan and on a serving plate or where you are
Keeping it. Frost and finish up with the rest of the white chocolate chips scattered on top!
It's pretty Easy & Yummy! Good Cake to go with the Texas Heat. Serve it
 up with a bit of Lite Cool Whip or you favorite cool whip topping! :)

on, they have gotten a bit ridiculus, but Jigsaw's will for 'Gore' still prevails, even beyond
the grave.  So Sunday after we have dinner at Sonic, we are going to see
'THE FINAL CHAPTER-SAW 3-D'!! (Summer of 2010)

I really enjoyed the movie. Way better
to me then New Moon. The chemistry
w/ Jacob, Edward & Bella worked in
Eclipse, which I wasn't convinced in 'New Moon'...
Yes, Edward as well as Jacob showed a lot
of attention & LOVE towards Bella!
I noticed at one point during the movie,
when Edward was telling Bella she would
always be 'HIS BELLA'..
Ted & I were holding hands... Made me smile!!Â
On the way home,Ted said he liked the Werewolves
if he had to chose he'd be a Werewolf, so I said You're 'Team Jacob' huh!?
He said 'NO' ...'TEAMÂ WEREWOLF', he thought
they were Cool! I of course 'Team Edward', so I would
be 'Team Vampire'... which from 'Eclipse' we have found can
Work together!!! I know it would Work w/ Ted! He's
My Best Friend, Lover & Hubby... I'm Happy for the
Moments we have together, and I look forward to many more!!
& YES, THUMBS UP ON 'ECLIPSE", it's worth seeing

I was a die hard, going to the actual store picking out a movie...but after several visits of never getting the movie I wanted & the price going up every 3 weeks..I decided to try Netflicks. It's very cool..picking out what I want.. being able to keep the movie as long as I want...Of course the choices are between Ted & Myself. Since I made him sit thru 'Twilight' (bought it..LORD HELP TED) & 'Step Up'... He picked 'Death Race'..which I thought I wouldn't enjoy. When I got home...relaxed a bit...made dinner..then prepared myself mentally for 'Death Race'.. a remake of the 'Death Race 2000' Movie. I enjoy car chases alright, but I figured that would be just about it... I WAS WRONG.. I CAN ADMIT IT...
I REALLY ENJOYED 'DEATH RACE'.. never seen the original..not sure if I want too..but I can say... 'DEATH RACE' was a PRETTY GOOD MOVIE'... ACTION PACKED FOR SURE.. & IT ALSO HAD A GOOD STORY LINE TO IT...

That following Sunday, February 8th, South by Southwest Film Conference & Festival (SXSW) and Fantastic Fest will co-present the ultimate OFFICE SPACE screening at the legendary Paramount Theater in Austin, TX, where OFFICE SPACE was filmed. Joan Cusack w/out John ( I know..unbelievable)... It's takes place during the 'Depression'...Depicts what people are going thru
& how they view each other & treat each other.. It's thru the eyes of
'Kit' a Kid/Aspiring Journalist.. It's a great movie for this Time of Year too. It amazed me even though we are more advanced & have more technology, many things still don't change... *Over the Weekend saw the book 'Twilight' for $6Â (paperback...u can get the Bigger Paperback for $11 w/ a movie poster) @ Walmart..I thought...Why not..so far..LOVING IT!!...

Steve & Randy. We are all 'Jigsaw/Saw'.. Guess Fans
would be a bad word..but we enjoy the 'Movies', as long as
it's Fantasy of course. I really 'LIKED' Saw V..had good
suspense..Tobin Bell as Jigsaw didn't disappoint..Most of the
acting was good..decent story line & of course.."Painful Gore"
served up as Justice Jigsaw style...If you are a Horror fan, than worth the
$10 to see Saw V in the theaters..the Sound is GREAT..But it could also
work as a 'Rental w/ the Volume up Really loud & the Lights turned Off too'!

 Was it that good? Well..I suppose if you "LOVE" the "SITC" show..YOU WILL ENJOY THE MOVIE... But be prepared for a 2 1/2 hour sit... I found my butt & knees hurting by the end...The movie had some good parts,but lacked on more "Corkiness" that the show provided! I found "Samantha" to not be what she was ( I guess she grew in character, but kinda lost her "SPARK", which bothered me) I feel the movie was about 30-45 minutes to long, drug out longer than it really needed too. Unless a guy is looking for "BROWNIE POINTS", I would suggest they go see "Radiers" while your "Sweetie" is seeing "SEX..." or definite "GIRLS NIGHT OUT" WORKS!!! (Gotta give it up to 'Dante'...you'll understand when you see the movie!!)
I could have waited for the rental & be okay with it. But the best part of it was the 'Theatre Experience' "All the Ladies w/ their friends enjoying & relating to lots of 'Female issues' & being able to laugh at times..maybe even cry for some!!!"..Although it could have been much shorter for that too!
 ***If you make plans to go, stretching before hand, making it a small coke & a decent size popcorn should get you thru.!!!
*** My hubby's take.. He'd rather get a 'Root Canal' than see that again!!!

Over the Weekend Rob Knox, who plays student 'Marcus Melby' in the upcoming 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince', was stabbed to death outside of a bar in London. Rob was trying to protect his younger brother from a man with knives when he was killed. Rob's friends called him a "Very thoughful Person, who was generous with his money!".. Regal plans for 3-dimensional viewing in U.S. theaters Written by: Jason Townsend-Rogers
Regal Entertainment Group plans to use 3D technology to bring people back to the movies.Cinema executives have a new trick up their sleeve in their fight to bring audiences back to the movies.
This new trick involves the use of 3D screens, a device that will be employed by Regal Entertainment Group, the nationâs largest cinema chain. Theatre executives are hoping that this negotiation will show audiences that they are willing to embrace 3D technology, and thus give them a reason to return to the cinema with their families.
This deal, which is expected to take effect in the next two years, will allow RealD Corporation, the manufacturer of the 3D screens, to possess more than 3,500 screens, enabling it to take the lead in 3D projection technology. As a result, competitors such as Dolby Laboratories will have a difficult time catching up.
Regalâs incentive for pursuing this deal was the premiere of more 3D-based films. Movies such as âJourney to the Center of the Earthâ and âBoltâ are expected to involve 3D technology and perform well at the box office. More films are expected to take advantage of this technology in the future.
Theater owners also have the added perk of charging more for ticket prices. According to the Wall Street Journal, "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour," which was in 3D, had theater owners charging a $15 admission fee, which was more than a $5 premium. This premium is balanced out by an increased audience.
As cited in the Wall Street Journal, box-office receipts in North America totaled $9.62 billion, up 5% from 2006, according to the National Association of Theater owners.

The breakout Superbad comic and Judd Apatow acolyte is in negotiations to develop a movie adaptation of the popular '80s TV show starring Johnny Depp. It hasn't been decided whether Hill will actually star in the movie, but Sony confirms that he'll work on the screenplay and serve as executive producer. The series, which ran from 1987 to 1991 on Fox... More here...

The Weinstein Co. will turn the Jim Henson series "FRAGGLE ROCK" into a live-action musical feature.
Just like the series, the film will be populated by a mix of human characters and Fraggle Rock puppets. TWC co-chair Harvey Weinstein, who has been steering his company more aggressively into the family film arena, made the marriage with Lisa Henson, who runs JHC with her co-CEO brother, Brian Henson.
Pic will take the core characters Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red outside of their home in Fraggle Rock, where they interact with humans, which they think are aliens. The show premiered on HBO in 1983, ran five seasons and was broadcast in more than 80 countries.... "VARIETY"
