American Lung Associations 116 Hours of Giving Campaign
116 Hours of Giving Campaign
Tuesday November 12th - Saturday, November 16th
We asked what these numbers mean to you:
116, 2 out of 3, 23,000, 72,000 and 33 million...
Here's what they mean to us at the American Lung Association:
33 million: The number of Americans who suffer from lung disease.
72,000: The number of women lung cancer kills each year.
23,000: The number of breaths the average person takes per day.
2 out 3: The number of people with lung cancer who are never or former smokers
And the number we didn't include: 1
Lung Cancer is the NUMBER ONE cancer killer in the USA.
What about 116?
116%: The percentage that lung cancer deaths have risen among women in the past 35 years.
116 hours: The number of hours you have to give to MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
$116,000: The number of dollars we want to raise.
It’s a lofty goal, but we believe YOU can make a difference. Join us for 116 Hours of Giving starting Tuesday!

American Lung Association's Fight for Air Climb
The Frost Bank Tower, 401 Congress | Austin TX
Saturday, April 26th, 2014
7:30 am - 1 pm
Fight for Air Climbs are the American Lung Association’s most unique fundraisers. Climbs take place in prominent skyscrapers, stadiums or arenas and involve walking, running or racing up hundreds of steps. Sometimes called a "vertical road race", teams and individual participants can use the event as a fitness target, as a race, or as a great way to be active and meet new friends. We know a lot about lung disease, but there is so much we don't know. Your participation will raise the funds necessary to provide lifesaving education, research and advocacy so we can beat lung disease and soon find a cure.
Registration is only $15 until November 15th and then goes up to $25. There is a minimum fundraising requirement of $100. This is a family friendly event as we will have lots of activities for everyone.
