They are doing away w/ separating the DVD and streaming videos with 2 separate fees and sites.
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said that Netflix would pull the plug on Qwikster, citing the confusion that would arise from having a separate, DVD-only offering. Qwikster and Netflix would have operated on two separate websites without integration between the two, requiring users to pay two different companies each month, maintain two separate profiles, and post any movie reviews twice.
"It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs," Hastings wrote. "This means no change: one website, one account, one password⦠in other words, no Qwikster." Click for more

Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S, a faster version of its best-selling smartphone that includes a virtual "personal assistant" you can talk to. And, for the first time, the iPhone will be available on the Sprint wireless network, as well as AT&T and Verizon.
The phone costs from $200 for a model with 16 GB of storage space to $400 for the 64 GB model. Both of those prices are subsidized by the cost of a 2-year wireless contract.
The next-generation iPhone goes on sale on October 14. Click for more!
iPhone 4S is a "world phone," meaning it will be able to place calls more easily on wireless networks all over the world, not just in the United States.
Are you going to upgrade to the iPhone 4S? |

 What do you think?
Â
(RAMP News)Still trying to understand what's happening with Facebook? Founder/CEO Mark Zuckerberg changed things again today, announcing major changes during his keynote at the F8 Conference. Included in a new series of enhancements and linked applications, as well as a new feed called "Timeline," he unveiled a new way that users can share music. In what he described as "realtime serendipity," Zuckerberg showed how users will be able to see what their friends are listening to via linked applications like Spotify and, if they want to hear it, can click on it in through Facebook to stream it as well -- which will show up in their own news feed, spreading it to other people and so on and so forth. Facebook is also rolling out a Music Timeline that shows a person's top artist, most-listened-to song and current playlist, allowing people to find out what you're hearing and sample it themselves.
He brought out Spotify Founder/CEO Daniel Ek, who spoke for a few minutes about how his company has integrated with Facebook to spread music -- in a good way. "We had to draw people away from piracy while helping them listen to more music," said Ek. "The problem with Napster was that it didn't work for the music industry. We spent the last decade building a product that benefits the artists while allowing people to share music." According to Spotify's figures, members listen to more music and more different kinds of music. "They're more engaged, so they're more than twice as likely to pay for music," Ek said. "We're bringing people back to paying for music again." Zuckerberg closed out the music portion of his presentation by showing a quick slide of the dozen or so applications that are being linked into Facebook's new music deal, including iHeartRadio, Turntable.fm and Rdio. |

ANSWER: FACEBOOK
"The Web has a winner: Facebook.
According to new research from Nielsen's "The Social Media Report," American Internet users now devote more time to Facebook than any other website, spending a total of 53.5 billion minutes a month on the world's largest social networking site."
This is far ahead of sites like Blogger, to which Americans cumulatively devote 723 million minutes a month, Twitter, which receives 565 million minutes of users' time per month and LinkedIn, on which claims 325 million minutes per month. (2) Yahoo, the second most popular web brand overall, receives just half as much time of users' time as Facebook (Americans spent 17.2 billion minutes on the site), followed by (3)Â Google (12.5 billion minutes, which does not include the 9.1 billion minutes people spent on YouTube).
And us girls love it the most...
The research also found some notable differences in the ways varying demographics use social media sites. Women, who Nielsen said "make up the majority of visitors to social networks and blogs," and users between 18 and 34 years-old were highlighted as the "most active social networkers."
Women account for 62 percent of Facebook's page views, Nielsen wrote, adding that men are "more likely to visit LinkedIn and Wikia." Female Internet users also watch more online videos than men, but men spend more time (247 million minutes per month) watching video online than women (226 million minutes per month). |

Tim Cook-
(Perez) Â Out Magazine wrote, when they named Cook the number one "Power 50" a few months ago: "While it is Jobsâs prescience that has kept the Cupertino, Calif., company at the cutting edge of technology, itâs Cook who made sure Apple could deliver as demand rocketed. Leader-in-waiting? Most definitely."
Tim said 'Apple will not change."

Twitter has added a new feature 'user galleries'.
Couple of things:
-First, users should know that manually retweeting a tweet that has a link to a photo in it will add that image to their gallery, while  retweeting a post using Twitter's retweet button will not.
-Second, to remove an image from the gallery, a user must delete the entire tweet.
Here's some tips from twitter to help. If that doesn't work, then I'll just ask my teenage niece Kaiti.
